I work in Albany, Berkeley, El Cerrito, Emeryville, Kensington, and Richmond.
I’m currently owned by two cats, who are BFFFs (best furry friends forever), and they make me laugh every day.
I have experience with all different types of cats. One of my current cats was wild a... I was born and raised with cats and have loved them my whole life. They have their own language and way of communicating, and I’ve found they respond well if you speak their language. (Or have treats).
I work in Albany, Berkeley, El Cerrito, Emeryville, Kensington, and Richmond.
I’m currently owned by two cats, who are BFFFs (best furry friends forever), and they make me laugh every day.
I have experience with all different types of cats. One of my current cats was wild and feral when I first adopted him, and I’ve trained him into a wonderful house cat. I am comfortable giving medications, coaxing shy and/or anxious kitties to come out, and playing with chaotic kittens. I also have experience with special needs cats, specifically with kitties who are blind. I love how adorable cats can be, and I enjoy getting to know their unique purrsonalities.
I’m Covid vaccinated x 4, and will follow the house owner's protocols for safety and comfort.

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
I love meeting new cats, figuring out how to earn their trust, so they allow me to care for them. It’s so rewarding to see happy faces, and hear loud purrs.
Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
I have two kitties right now, their names are Monkey and Bunny. They are very silly and snuggly boys. They make me laugh every day.
What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?
During the meet and greet, we will go over what the normal procedures are. If the Kitty wants to meet me, then I love to give them some attention and talk to them so they get used to the sound of my voice. If the kitty is a bit shy, at least they get used to the sound of my voice, and then I won’t be a complete stranger when I come to care for them.

Rachel was just what we needed! One of our kitties had surgery a few days before we left for the holidays and I felt confident leaving her with Rachel. She understood the importance of closely monitoring and administering oral medication, and was comfortable with our emergency care plan. Rachel asked many questions to make sure she understood our needs and sent frequent updates with photos from her visits. Both kitties looked forward to playtime with her!

Rachel is a dream cat sitter, who will not only go above and beyond for your pet but also has fantastic communication that puts your heart at ease while you’re away. She took care of our rambunctious fluff ball over Christmas and it was like a vacation for him too! Right from the start, Rachel was all ears about Bean's habits and favorites. While we were away, she sent the cutest updates—pics and videos included—so we knew Bean was having a blast without us. She made sure his routine stayed intact, and he was even more pampered than usual. If you need someone awesome to watch your cat, we can’t recommend Rachel enough. Holiday Surcharge
Due to high demand during holidays, sitters on Meowtel have the option to set their own holiday price increase, which can be found in the rates section of their profiles. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.
These are the date ranges in 2026 to which the holiday surcharge applies:
- January 1-4: New Year's 2026
- January 16-22: MLK Day
- February 13-19: Presidents Day
- May 22-28: Memorial Day
- June 16-22: Juneteenth
- July 1-7: July 4th
- September 4-10: Labor Day
- October 9-15: Columbus Day / Indigenous Peoples' Day
- November 8-14: Veterans Day
- November 23-29: Thanksgiving
- December 22-28: Christmas
- December 29-31: New Year's 2027

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Albany cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $39.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.

Rachel is great. Lily (my kitty) loves her, although it may be because she knows where the food is :). Rachel is quick to reply and flexible with coming in the mornings. This has been our second booking and I''m glad our kitty will have a consistent sitter when we are away.

Rachel looked after our 5 m/o kitten, Cliff, for over a week, feeding him, giving him his medicine, and cleaning up after him. She did a great job keeping him company and giving him lots of much-needed play time. I highly recommend her and would be delighted to have her look after Cliff again.
