Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?

I have cats back home at my parents house that I grew up with. Two boys and one girl. The oldest boy is named Rocket because he was super fast as a kitten but now he’s old and likes to take long naps. The middle cat is named Luna but we call her Kitty. She is very sassy and loves to hunt outside. The youngest cat is named Topo Chico, and he is playful and loves to eat. Here in LA, my boyfriend has a cat named Leo that I often watch. He’s always at an arms distance but loves to be right next to me and when its time to play, he lets me know.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?

Always have a quick meet and greet before handing the keys over to a stranger. Ensure your cats get a whiff of the new person entering your home and that you have a list of guidelines for the cat sitter. Make sure the cat sitter understands your expectations and if they’re asking additional questions, they mean business.

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

Since I have a car back home that is very shy and anxious, I make sure to make little noise and allow the cat to move at their pace. Allowing a cat to sniff objects of mine before reaching for some loving pets/scratches, is important. Once a there’s a loud noise or quick sudden movement that scares an anxious cat, it can take a while to restart that process. I think patience and remaining calm is the best way to go. Once contact is made, giving a treat and some light scratches is also a great way to gain their trust.

Cancellation Policy

Customers may cancel within 24 hours of making their reservation and receive a 100% refund, and the sitter will not receive any earnings. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:

Customers will receive a 100% refund to their Account Balance if they cancel anytime up to 48 hours before the start date of the reservation, and the sitter will not receive any earnings.

Customers will receive a 50% refund, and the sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings if the customer cancels between 24-48 hours of the start of the reservation.

No refund will be issued within 24 hours of the reservation, and the sitter will keep 100% of their planned earnings.
