I have cat sit numerous friends' cats when they were out of town or too busy to take care of them. When they were away, I fed the cats pristinely on schedule and disposed of their litters and had plenty of playtime with their cats so they are happy and healthy... Hi Everyone, nice to meet you! I work in accounting in tech and I am available at early morning or late afternoons on weekdays or available on weekends as needed. I live in the peninsula and will primarily serve around the area. I wear a mask everywhere and am vaccinated. I prefer to do meet and greets on Zoom and can do contactless key exchanges. What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?
I have been cat sitting for two years! It’s wonderful and has brought my life so much joy and new kitty friends! I’m the default cat sitter for friends and neighbors when they’re away. Per my history with meowtel, I have always been asked back to catsit 😽and have recurring clients.
Can you tell us about your favorite cat sitting reservation?
My favorite cat sitting reservation was a shy and charming cat named Jackjack. His owner had mentioned he is elusive but likes company and especially when you talk to him. During my first visit, he was hiding and I started talking into the void, hoping he would hear me. It seemed silly at first since it looked like I was talking to myself in an apt, but by the end of the first visit he was peeking his head out. After each visit, he would get more curious about me and eventually he got comfortable enough that he would be sitting at the couch to greet me with chirps and raspy meows-which his owner says he only does if he really likes you! It taught me that cats all have their own bespoke language and that you have to approach them in their own special way🥰
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
For cats that are particularly timid or anxious, I usually give them space and let them approach me. There’s usually a reason for their anxiety whether it stems from their past or it’s just their personality, so I try to gauge how comfortable they are and try to bridge that gap. Cats are very sensitive, so I try to read their body language if they’re feeling confident, open to connecting or timid. My approaches are to gain their trust and also spark their curiousity. 😃

Sophia was awesome while I was on vacation! She was very communicative about when she would be dropping by so I always knew when to expect updates. She sent lots of pictures and really went above and beyond in giving details about how my cat was doing while we were away. Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Burlingame cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $37.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.
