I absolutely adore cats I genuinely can’t resist stopping to admire (and take pictures of) any I spot in public... Hey there! My name is Derrick and I’ve been a proud cat dad to my not-so-little baby boy Storm for the past 5 years. I also care for Sunny and Moon, my brother’s two cats, who are 8 and 13 years old. Each of these three has their own unique personality, and over the years, I’ve become very skilled at understanding and earning the trust of even the shyest kitties.
I absolutely adore cats I genuinely can’t resist stopping to admire (and take pictures of) any I spot in public. Felines hold a special place in my heart, and I treat every cat I care for with the same love, attention, and patience as I do my own.
When you leave your furry friend in my care, you can rest easy knowing they’ll be safe, loved, and given all the affection, playtime, and gentle care they need. Whether your kitty is playful, shy, curious, or cuddly, I’ll adapt to their needs and make sure they feel comfortable and happy while you’re away.

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
I enjoy getting to spend time with all kinds of cats and discovering their unique personalities. I genuinely enjoy giving them all my love, attention, and care, and it’s such a joy to build that trust and connection over time. Plus, playtime and snuggles are always a highlight! :)
Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
I currently take care of three kitties! Storm is my own cat he’s 5 years old and I adopted him during COVID. He’s incredibly loving and cuddly, a total sweetheart. I also help care for Moon and Sunny, my brother’s cats, who are 13 and 8. Each of them has such a distinct personality, and I truly love being part of their little world.
What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?
When working with a new cat parent, I always like to start with a meet and greet. It’s a great opportunity for you to get to know me, ask any questions, and see firsthand how much I genuinely care for and love cats. During the visit, I’ll spend some time with your kitty so they can start getting comfortable with me. I also take detailed notes and ask plenty of questions about your cat’s routine, personality, preferences, and any special needs to make sure we’re completely aligned and there’s no room for miscommunication. My goal is to make both you and your kitty feel confident, comfortable, and cared for.

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Cerritos cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $31.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
