I have had cats since I was 15 years old, and took it a step further by also volunteering for cat rescues, as well as kitten fostering!

I know basic cat care, as well as basics in bottle feeding, diaper changing, stimulating, meds, and even tube feeding. I even have experience with paraplegic and neuro shakey cats. Cats really are a huge part of my life, and I love knowing they're well and happy.
I also have 3 of my own cats.

Yes! All of our cats were previously our fosters that we ended up adopting ourselves. #FosterFail Remi, Figgy, and Spock.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?
Experience is necessary, but so is your peace of mind. Do you feel uneasy when you see your sitter or do you breathe a sigh of relief? Find someone you trust that loves your baby as much as you do, and you'll never have to worry while you're gone.

Yes! I usually stay local, which makes it easy to stop by last minute or drop by for a check in.

Amanda is a fantastic cat sitter! She has a passion for all animals, and it especially shows with the furbabies she takes care of. I have an elderly kitty cat named Missy who needed special care and attention. She has her own little cattitude and doesn't open to many folks, but she loved to plop on Amanda's lap from their early interactions and onward. Amanda has tremendous knowledge around routine, cleanliness, food prep, and how to build bonds with cats and it shows. She has done fostering in her past for many shelters and the experience is evident. I feel confident that she is making the best choices for my cat and all cats she interacts with. She has helped nurse very young kittens and assisted very senior cats with everything in between. She treats all cats as if they are her own and doesn't just ask for trust, she earns it. I strongly recommend her to be your first call when you need a sitter. You will see why very quickly and I am sure she will be your go to cat person as well. :)

I have been using Amanda to watch my cats for about 10 years. She goes above and beyond for my furr babies. She recently helped me with my terminally il cat while I was out of town for work. My cat took a turn for the worse and she took my cat to the veterinarian for much needed treatment. I am forever grateful and don't trust anyone else.

Holiday Surcharge
Due to high demand during holidays, sitters on Meowtel have the option to set their own holiday price increase, which can be found in the rates section of their profiles. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.
These are the date ranges in 2026 to which the holiday surcharge applies:
- January 1-4: New Year's 2026
- January 16-22: MLK Day
- February 13-19: Presidents Day
- May 22-28: Memorial Day
- June 16-22: Juneteenth
- July 1-7: July 4th
- September 4-10: Labor Day
- October 9-15: Columbus Day / Indigenous Peoples' Day

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Fresno cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $32.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
