My name is Erika and I am an animal lover but, I really love kitties. I have two that just turned 7 years old, Otis and Sid. I recently lost my elderly cat Boris, he was almost 20. I have had my kitties since they were 6 weeks old, so I am very familiar with young and older kitties. I understand all kitties have different personalities and react to people differently some are shy, some are very outgoing. I can totally respect kitties that need their space and will give lots and lots of love and attention to those that want it. I would be taking lots of photos while caring for your cat/cats so that you know exactly how they’re doing and how they are being fed and cleaned up after... I am a hairdresser that works from home so I am available almost any time of day. I help out with the nonprofit HB Dog Beach. I do their online orders and help out at the beach. I am also a dog walker. Seeing happy pets is one thing that makes me smile most. I know how hard it can be to find someone you trust to take care of your babies. I never had children myself, so my kitties are my babies so I understand how important it is to trust who cares for them.
I live in the downtown Huntington Beach area and would love to cat sit for you. I am fully Vaccinated and will take every precaution to make sure you and your kitties are safe and happy. What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?

I have had nothing but wonderful experiences Cat Sitting for Meowtel. I have met so many wonderful kitties. I have been watching kitties for years, but I have been with Meowtel since 2022.

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?

I have met so many wonderful cats and kittens and have become a trusted cat sitter for so many wonderful babies. It’s like an extended family and I get to see them when their parents go out of town. I absolutely miss and love them and can’t wait for my next visit with them.

Can you tell us about your favorite cat sitting reservation?

That is a tough one. I think there is something about every reservation that I love it. It’s too hard to pick a favorite.

Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?

Yes, Otis and Sid are my two boys. They’re six years old, a black and a ginger brothers from the same litter. I have had cats my whole adult life starting when I was 19. a house just isn’t a home without at least one, but I usually have two or more.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?

My advice when looking for a cat sitter, is you want to Feel comfortable with the person that you are trusting your babies with. Any cat sitter with Meowtel has been verified and had their background checked, but you wanna feel a connection with your actual sitter or have them have a connection with your cat(s).

What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?

I want to make sure everyone feels comfortable with me with their babies. A meet and greet is essential to see what you want me to do in your home for your cat or cats, also to see how I interact with your cat(s). There are some cats that are super shy some they’re super friendly. Every cat has their own personality and I respect that. I like to explain I send a lot of photos and videos. I want you to know exactly what’s going on in real time with your cat while I’m in your home.

How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?

I always take my shoes off when I’m inside someone’s house to make sure I don’t step on any kitties as some get under feet. I also make sure the doors are closed and that the cats are accounted for before I leave. That is as long as they’re not hiding I have a couple that are super good at hide and seek and those kitties are hard to account for.

Are you usually available during holidays?

Yes, I am usually available all holidays except for Mother’s Day. I usually go visit my mother for that holiday, but that’s the only holiday I’m ever out of town for. Thanksgiving and Christmas are usually completely devoted to cat sitting.

What is your favorite cat toy?

That depends on the cat. Cats are so different and all of them seem to like different types of toys when I find a cat toy that works for your cat. That’s the one I stick with for them.

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

Cats that are timid or anxious. I usually leave them alone. I don’t wanna make cats that are afraid more afraid than they already are. I may say hello to them, but I give them their space and let them come to me if they want.

Erika was very loving and patient with our shy cat. She is experienced, so she lets them take their time until they are comfortable with interactions. She sent lots of pictures and videos from her visits, which we really appreciated. I’d certainly recommend her services!
