A friend of mine found Kona in her neighborhood in September 2023 & asked if I could keep him while we tried to find his owner & I couldn’t say no. He was a super friendly & talkative kitten that looked to be about 6 months old. We did find the owner, but he didn’t want him back because he said that he was mean to the new kitten they’d recently adopted so he’d made him an outdoor cat🙄. His loss was my gain. Kona is now a spoiled indoor cat & he’s an amazing boy!
A few months later I decided Kona needed a friend & once I met Benny, I knew he’d be a great fit because although he was a sweet natured kitten, he was also very brave & playful... Hi there! My name is Jennifer and I’m an absolute animal lover who has owned and cared for a variety of pets my entire life.

A few months later I decided Kona needed a friend & once I met Benny, I knew he’d be a great fit because although he was a sweet natured kitten, he was also very brave & playful. I was hopeful he could handle Kona’s alpha personality & it all worked out after slowly introducing them to each other. As it turns out, Benny is actually the bossy one.
I adopted Benny at the beginning of December 2023 when he was about 4 months old. A month after I adopted him, he suddenly became very sick & it turned out to be FIP (Feline infectious peritonitis). We began treatment right away & it was a long road, but we’re so thankful that we figured out what was wrong & that there’s a cure for it! It was only 3 days into treatment before he was back to his sweet normal self & he’s thankfully had no setbacks at all. His last dose of medication was in April 2024 and I’m so grateful that my adorable & sweet little FIP Warrior is alive & well-to see him now you’d never know he’d ever been sick.
I work as a Secretary at a school in Roseville, so I have more time off than a typical full time job & I would love to take care your kitties in my free time. I live in Lincoln & work in Roseville, so I’m available to watch cats in those areas and in Rocklin.
I understand that pets are family and how difficult it can be to trust a stranger to watch them, but I'm confident that once you meet me, you'll be happy to leave them in my care. I will do everything I can to make sure that they are as content & happy as possible while you're away.

What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?
I currently have 2 cats and have had cats & dogs ever since I was a kid & throughout my lifetime, so I’ve been caring for cats and other animals for over 40 years. I’ve also watched friends pets while they’re on vacation and have had a number of kitty clients since joining Meowtel a few months ago. All of my Meowtel clients have been very happy with my service and have left positive reviews.
What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
What I enjoy most about cat sitting is spending time with the cats — playing with them, getting to know their personalities, and earning their trust. I especially love the feeling of a fearful or shy kitty slowly warming up to me and feeling comfortable enough to come out, play, and show their true selves. It’s so rewarding to see them relax and trust me enough to let me care for them.
Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
Yes-I have 2 young male cats & they're the sweetest boys! Kona (grey tabby) & Baby Benny (orange tabby).
What is your favorite cat toy?
My cats (and my daughters cats) absolutely love homemade feather sticks that I get from someone local. It’s the simplest thing (literally just a balloon stick with emu feathers hot glued to the end), but most cats absolutely love them! If I’m working with a shy cat I’ll typically ask if they mind if I bring one over with me. Typically the feather stick works to coax out the shyest of cats!

I can't say enough good things about her! She took such wonderful care of my girl even while painters were in the house, which could have been a really stressful situation. She went above and beyond by moving her to a quieter room, bringing in food and water, and making sure she was comfortable, safe, and couldn't accidentally slip out. She was incredibly reliable, kept me updated with photos, and gave me so much peace of mind while everything was going on. It was obvious she genuinely cared about my girl's well-being and treated her like her own. I would hire her again and again without hesitation. Holiday Surcharge
Due to high demand during holidays, sitters on Meowtel have the option to set their own holiday price increase, which can be found in the rates section of their profiles. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Lincoln cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $28.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.
Cats are territorial animals and don't do well in new environments. The presence of other cats, dogs, and even birds in kennels or animal hotels cause an immense amount of stress. This is why Meowtel was created, so tailored in-home care is brought to you.
We recommend booking daily visits to keep your cats in their routine and help minimize feline anxiety while you're away.
