What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?
I have been professionally cat sitting since 2024, with over 20 years of experience through owning my own cats and helping family and friends. I’ve cared for healthy, senior, and sick cats and am experienced giving medications and assisting with injections. I once served as a live-in cat nanny for six months for a cat with cancer, administering treatments and keeping the cat comfortable while the owner traveled. I’m patient with shy or rescue cats and take time to earn their trust. I also have keen observation skills and pay attention to behavior and appetite. I’ve cared for breeds including Russian Blue, Bengal, Maine Coon, American Shorthair, Ragdoll, Persian, and Norwegian Forest cats.
What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
Cat sitting feels like making a new friend with every sit. I enjoy getting to know each cat’s personality and uniqueness, and over time we create a bond and a quiet respect for each other. I love being around cats—their playfulness, their quirks, and the little things that make each one different. Providing care for them comes naturally to me. I’m a compassionate person, and cat sitting gives me the opportunity to express that care and attention. Cats seem to sense that warmth, and they relax and feel comforted when they know someone gentle and patient is there with them. As a creative person, I’m always looking for inspiration, and I often find it in the personalities and quiet moments I share with each new cat. One of the most rewarding parts is earning a cat’s trust.
How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?
follow the pet parents’ instructions closely and respect their routines. I keep my phone charged and with me at all times so communication stays open for calls or texts. I check food levels daily and make sure feeding bowls are cleaned properly. I also follow the security methods left by the parents and make sure doors are locked and secure. I do morning and nightly walk-throughs to ensure nothing harmful is on the floors or accessible to the cats, and I stay aware of weather alerts or local news that could affect the home or pets. I also make sure I have the local fire department, police, utility company, and any neighbor or emergency contact numbers available. I check that food, medication, and litter supplies will last for the entire duration of the sit. I also stay attentive to the cat’s behavior, appetite, and litter box habits so I

Holiday Surcharge
Due to high demand during holidays, sitters on Meowtel have the option to set their own holiday price increase, which can be found in the rates section of their profiles. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
