I never force interaction, and I’m happy to simply keep them company, refresh their food and water, clean their litter box, and make sure they’re comfortable and happy while you’re away... Hi, I’m Siqin, but you can also call me Selena! I’ve been caring for cats for 5+ years and have 2 years of experience providing cat drop-in visits. I’m comfortable caring for cats with all kinds of personalities, from social butterflies who greet me at the door to shy ones who prefer to hide at first.
My favorite part of cat sitting is getting to know each cat at their own pace. I never force interaction, and I’m happy to simply keep them company, refresh their food and water, clean their litter box, and make sure they’re comfortable and happy while you’re away.
And apparently, I have a little Disney princess charm when it comes to cats! Even very shy cats often warm up to me and eventually come out for some pets.
During each visit, I’ll give your cat plenty of attention based on what they enjoy, while also keeping an eye out for anything unusual with their eating, litter box habits, behavior, or overall well-being. I’ll send you photos and updates so you can relax knowing your kitty is doing well.

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
I simply love spending time with cats. They’re such cute, funny, and soothing little creatures, and I always enjoy getting to know their unique personalities. What makes me happiest is when a cat starts to trust me. There’s something really rewarding about a kitty rubbing against me, choosing to sit next to me, or even seeing a more reserved cat slowly open up after a few visits. Those little moments make me feel like I’ve truly earned their trust.
What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?
I like to start with a meet & greet so we can get to know each other and, most importantly, I can meet your cat! During the visit, we’ll do a quick walkthrough of your home and go over everything I need to know, including feeding routines, litter box care, medications if needed, favorite toys or activities, and any little quirks or preferences your cat has. You can also show me where everything is and share any specific instructions or things you’d like me to keep an eye on. I’ll make sure I understand your cat’s routine and care details before the first visit, so you can feel comfortable knowing your kitty is in good hands while you’re away.
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
I always let the cat set the pace. If a cat is timid or anxious, I give them plenty of space and let them do whatever makes them feel comfortable while I quietly take care of their normal routine. As they become more curious and start getting closer, I’ll gently offer my hand and let them sniff me so they can get familiar with my scent. I never rush the process or force interaction. Once they feel comfortable and start showing me that they trust me, I’ll slowly introduce pets and affection. For me, the best moment is when a cat who was hiding at the beginning finally decides, “Okay, I trust you!”

Holiday Surcharge
Due to high demand during holidays, sitters on Meowtel have the option to set their own holiday price increase, which can be found in the rates section of their profiles. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
