Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?

Yes! My sweet kitties are Harley (grey) and Baxter (orange). Harley came into my life first at 6 1/2 months old, almost 14 years ago. He was a little anxious and not very playful for a long time until 6 years ago, when Baxter joined our family and changed everything. Baxter is about 10 now and came from a hoarding situation with many other cats. Thanks to Baxter’s insistence on being friends, a whole new side of Harley’s personality emerged. They play together every day and are both the sweetest, most affectionate cats. I feel incredibly lucky to share my life with them. Being a cat parent to these two is a big reason why I love caring for other cats too!

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?

I know how personal it feels to leave your cat in the care of someone else. It’s a sensitive thing. But when you know what you’re looking for, and you find a sitter who genuinely loves cats, is patient, and believes in meeting your cat where they are, it could allow for the makings of a really great fit. And I also fully support cat parents who decide another option is better. This is about your needs just as much as your cat’s. At the end of the day, it’s about building a relationship grounded in trust and care, so everyone feels comfortable and safe.

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

First off, I just want to share some love for all the timid and anxious cats out there who are just doing their best. I can imagine how sensitive they may feel, and I take extra care to ensure they feel safe and comfortable. I speak in soft tones, move slowly, and give them plenty of space. I believe in meeting them exactly where they’re at with their needs and will never force an interaction. I also like to follow any tips or routines the cat parents suggest, because they know their cat best. My goal is always the same, to make sure these sweet kitties feel respected, cared for, and as comfortable as possible while their people are away.

Anna was excellent. At our first meeting she took notes, asked questions, and is generally a delightful person. My cats are very nervous around new people, yet by the 2nd and third days they were already coming out for pets and play. I received plenty of communication, photos and videos, and all the dishes were cleaned, cat food containers rinsed before being disposed of, etc. I’ll definitely call on Anna again.

Cancellation Policy

Customers may cancel within 24 hours of making their reservation and receive a 100% refund, and the sitter will not receive any earnings. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:

Customers will receive a 100% refund to their Account Balance if they cancel anytime up to 48 hours before the start date of the reservation, and the sitter will not receive any earnings.

Customers will receive a 50% refund, and the sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings if the customer cancels between 24-48 hours of the start of the reservation.

No refund will be issued within 24 hours of the reservation, and the sitter will keep 100% of their planned earnings.

The Meowtel Promise & Satisfaction Guarantee

We are proud to provide each of our independently-contracted Meowtel cat sitters with the full benefits of our Meowtel Promise on eligible reservations. For reservations where each visit is at or above $20 and paid for through Meowtel, your cat(s) will automatically be covered under our insurance policy in the event that things don't go as planned.

If you are not fully satisfied with your sitter after the Meet & Greet or during the reservation, please call 1-844-636-9835 so we can help you re-book with a new sitter to ensure we can deliver on our purrfect hospitality promise.
