besides catsitting for friends and family for periods of time ranging from a weekend to over a month, i also have experience volunteering at nine lives foundation in redwood city.
i’ve cared for all kinds of cats, including shy rescues, adventurous and energetic kitties, ... hi there! i’m a longtime cat lover who unfortunately cannot have a cat due to my apartment guidelines but finds a lot of joy in caring for others’!

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
i love how each cat has their own little personality and preferences, and it’s an unparalleled feeling when a cat shows in their own way that they trust you, whether it’s revealing their belly, following you around, or curling up near you. i also really enjoy sharing space with a cat, whether we’re playing or coexisting.
What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?
i would start by asking for your cat’s routine, habits, quirks, and anything that can help me help them feel comfortable! i’m very meticulous about following instructions, so the more the better! i make sure to keep the space clean and provide update photos.
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
patience is key! i let them set the pace, avoid sudden movements, and give them a lot of space. especially from working with rescues, i’ve learned that consistency, calm energy, and respecting boundaries go a long way.

It was a pleasure to meet Anna. At the walkthrough she made notes and took photos to assure a successful visit. Her visit went very well despite my cats timidity and determination to flee strangers even when someone approaches the front door and hasn’t even knocked. Needless to say, these boys are not lap cats. Anna tried her best to win them over, but still successfully prevented them from escaping. I’m planning to continue to hire Anna and hopefully these boys will warm to her.

We couldn't have asked for a better sitter! Our usually shy cat warmed up to Anna super quickly. She asked detailed questions during the meet and greet, followed our instructions carefully, and was proactive about looking out for and alerting us to anything unusual. She also sent us detailed daily updates with adorable photos and videos!

We had the absolute pleasure of having Anna as our catsitter. She was so attentive and caring towards our two cats for the week we were gone. She is very efficient yet thorough with her tasks, and still makes time to play with the cats and make them feel loved. You can tell Anna truly loves cats! One of our cats is notoriously shy with strangers but surprisingly took to Anna very quickly! Anna followed our instructions perfectly and was flexible as situations arose. One of our cats has kidney disease, and she made sure to provide his medicine on time and plenty of fresh water, keeping an eye out for any health issues. I am so grateful for that, as I was worried to leave my sick cat in her care. Our place was left clean and cats are very happy. Anna is a phenomenal catsitter and we look forward to booking her in the future again!

Holiday Surcharge
Due to high demand during holidays, sitters on Meowtel have the option to set their own holiday price increase, which can be found in the rates section of their profiles. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.
These are the date ranges in 2026 to which the holiday surcharge applies:

- January 16-22: MLK Day
- February 13-19: Presidents Day
- May 22-28: Memorial Day
- June 16-22: Juneteenth
- July 1-7: July 4th

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Palo Alto cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $39.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.
