I have a super shy black cat (4yrs old) named Billie and a gregarious orange cat (2 yrs old) named Buddy! They’re total opposites of each other but they’re best friends! They loving snuggling and sitting on top of each other.

What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?

My process is ultimately starting with trust. I see if I can visit before the cat parent leaves that way it is not a complete surprise for the cats and so the cat parent can meet me in person. I always make sure to get all contact info for them and their vet in case of any emergencies. I always ask them what the routine is and stick to it to provide a stress-free experience. I take detailed notes on feeding instructions, litter habits, medications, playtime, favorite toys, and any other quirks to make sure I create a safe and loving environment. I am a clear communicator and will confirm all dates and take pictures/videos to send to ensure the cats are well loved and taken care of.

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

My cat Billie is a very shy and anxious boy. It took me a few weeks to even get him out of underneath the bed when I first adopted him. I was super patient with him and put his food under the bed with him and showed him my hand just to sniff. I even bought a pheromone spray to help him feel less stressed. What helped the most was using a wand toy and playing with him. He was super responsive and got his “mojo”. He still can be a little skiddish but I am always cautious to be slow and gentle to remind him he’s safe. He’s blossomed into a lap cat and even shows me his belly now!

Cancellation Policy

Customers may cancel within 24 hours of making their reservation and receive a 100% refund, and the sitter will not receive any earnings. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:

Customers will receive a 100% refund to their Account Balance if they cancel anytime up to 48 hours before the start date of the reservation, and the sitter will not receive any earnings.

Customers will receive a 50% refund, and the sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings if the customer cancels between 24-48 hours of the start of the reservation.

No refund will be issued within 24 hours of the reservation, and the sitter will keep 100% of their planned earnings.
