I have experience with a range of personalities in cats from temperamental to shy (as I have a very shy cat, Kiwi, and a temperamental cat, Lido, at home) and every personality in between. Every cat is different, so I always adapt to the care of every individual cat whether that means being more patient and caring, or respecting your cats boundaries of touch or space. I am also enthusiastic and passionate about proper care as well as just meeting new fur babies... Hello! I have had my fur babies for around 4 years in San Diego and they are my absolute pride and joy! Since adopting them, they have brought so much joy into my life, as I am sure you can relate. As a cat parent, I only want the best for my cats and that is exactly the type of energy I intend to bring when caring for your furbabies.

I understand that being away from your home and your fur babies can be stressful, but I am here to ease that stress and make this a positive experience for you and your cats. Any and all reservations and visits include:

I also have experience caring for other animals such as rodents (hamsters, hedgehogs, etc.), dogs, fish, and birds. I am open to caring for any other pets. I also have no problem helping out in other ways like watering plants, bringing mail/packages in etc.

What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?
I have been cat sitting for around 4 years and it has been nothing but a joyous experience. I love meeting new people and most importantly new cats and making sure they are cared and loved while their owners are away.
Can you tell us about your favorite cat sitting reservation?
One of my favorite cat sitting reservations included a cat who was so incredibly shy I almost never saw him. During my visits I would always have a very calm demeanor, play calming music, and place a few treats (owner approved) around the owners apartment for him to enjoy while I was gone. By the last 2-3 days he started making an appearance and I was able to play with him. It was a super rewarding experience because I could see the trust building slowly over time. Earning that kind of connection with a shy cat felt really special and reminded me how important patience and consistency are in cat sitting.
Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
I have 2 cats myself, Kiwi who is a very shy and small domestic longhair and Lido who is a Main Coone & domestic Longhair mix who is on the temperamental side.
What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?
My process for working with a new cat parent include setting up a meet and greet to meet the cat parent and the cat(s). During this visit I have a list of questions to ask the cat parent about their fur babie(s), their normal behavior, routine, and any other important information I should know about their home and pet. I usually take notes either in a notebook or on my phone to ensure no information is overlooked and review before each visit. It’s important to me that every cat parent feels confident and at ease leaving their cat in my care. I build trust through clear communication, attention to detail, and by tailoring my approach to each cat’s unique needs.
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
Timid or anxious cats often don’t make an appearance during the first few visits, as they’re usually feeling stressed and unsure. When working with shy cats, I maintain a calm, gentle presence by speaking softly, moving slowly, and giving them plenty of space. I’ve had personal experience with this as well. My own cat was very shy when I adopted her, and over time, she gradually came out of her shell. During visits, I also like to play soft, calming music to help create a soothing environment. I never force interaction. Instead, I allow the cat to approach me when they feel ready. This respectful approach helps build trust, and more often than not, by the final few visits, even the most reserved cats begin to come out, even if just for a little while. It’s incredibly rewarding to witness that kind of progress and connection.

Sarah was absolutely amazing, communication and meeting in person beforehand was prompt and at my convenience and she was absolutely great with my cat Destiny for the 2 weeks she watched her. Sarah went above and beyond feeding and cleaning Destiny's litter box, she sent me videos everyday and she took the time to bond with her which was evident by the videos and how calm Destiny was when I returned home. Normally when I travel I would bring Destiny with me but that put a lot of stress on her. From now on when I travel I will definitely request Sarah's services from Meowtel. Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

San Diego cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $32.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
