🌻 I’ve owned and loved cats my entire life, and currently have four amazing rescue kitties named Felix + Milo (tabby brothers), and Arlo + Alice (fluffy orange boy and his lynx point sister). 💊 I am comfortable administering eye drops, inhalers, and topical/oral medications and am more than happy to care for kitties with special needs. Please let me know what I can do to keep them safe, healthy, and comfortable.
🏡 I will carefully follow all instructions you provide in order to maintain consistency for your cat(s). In addition to cat-sitting, I am more than happy to complete extra small tasks to take care of your home such as bringing in mail, taking out trash cans, light cleaning, watering plants, etc. Just let me know how I can help and I can most likely accommodate it!
💬 Communication is incredibly important to me; I will provide written updates for each visit along with photos/videos to keep you informed and worry-free.
📅 I work at my full-time job from 6:30am-3pm Monday through Friday most weeks. Outside of these hours, I am available and happy to provide kitty care! On most weekends, I am available at any time.
🗒️ For first-time clients, I love to set up a meet & greet before the start of the booking. This is a great way to:

○ learn the location of extra food, food/water dishes, cleaning supplies, litter boxes, etc.

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
I love getting to meet each and every cat! Every single one has such a unique personality, and it’s so much fun seeing how our relationship will form over the course of the first few visits.
What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?
I always like to schedule a meet and greet before a booking! This time is very valuable so that I can learn about your kitties’ routine and make sure that I can simulate it while you are away. I like to go over important information such as your cat’s daily routine, behavior, medications/health concerns, key pickup/return, and the location of items that may be needed during the sit. It also provides the cat(s) with an opportunity to meet me before a booking begins so that a complete stranger isn’t entering their space and creating a stressful environment. I prefer to allow your cat(s) to warm up to me gradually with lots of treats, petting, and playtime as positive reinforcement.
Are you usually available during holidays?
I am! Please don't hesitate to reach out regarding holidays - I know this is a busy time for travel so I try to make myself as available as possible.
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
I like to take things slow and work at a pace which the cat is comfortable with. I avoid direct eye contact and sudden movements, allow them to come up and sniff me when they're ready, and offer lots of treats/toys as positive reinforcement. I find that longer wand toys and laser pointers can be a great way to engage shy kitties and start to build trust from a distance. I also like to discuss this at the meet and greet in order to see if you prefer to use any specific strategies.

Lauren is a caring, thorough, responsive sitter. Our cat Arthur often has a difficult time, especially the first few days we leave for vacation. We were so happy that he immediately felt comfortable with her, and settled right into his new routine. Lauren sent us updates and several pictures each visit. Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

San Jose cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $39.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.

Lauren is simply the best!! She is so nice and smart and professional and I cannot recommend her enough! She took care of my cat, Tommy, for three nights and did an amazing job. She is very detail-oriented so when I came back home it seemed like as I was home myself with Tommy the entire time. I’m a moderately OCD guy and I didn’t have to make any adjustments to my apartment because Lauren was so precise and caring! She is very professional and proactive in her communication style, and btw, she’s quite a photographer and sent me amazing photos of Tommy along with detailed reports of her visits everyday!
