A lot of the cats I care for are a little shy or nervous at first, so I always let them set the pace and approach me when they’re ready. Because cats don’t always love change, I stick closely to their regular routine to help them feel comfortable. This includes feeding times, stimulating playtime with favorite toys, cuddle time, and maintaining litter box hygiene. I’ve cared for cats with all kinds of personalities, from playful kittens and social butterflies to shy seniors and those that require extra patience.
Many of the families I work with have two or more cats, so I’m very comfortable managing different personalities, feeding routines, and making sure each cat gets one-on-one time.
As a caretaker to a cat with different needs, I have experience administering oral medication, applying topical treatments, and managing dietary restrictions. I’m comfortable following detailed instructions and giving medications on schedule.

I know being away from your cat isn’t easy, so I send regular updates with detailed notes, plenty of photos, and videos after every visit, so you always know how your cat is doing.

I’m respectful of your space and happy to follow any house rules, like wearing a mask or removing my shoes.
📍 Availability & Service Areas
I offer drop-in visits (20, 45, or 60 minutes) up to 3x daily between 7:00 AM and 9:00 PM. I serve parts of San Mateo and Santa Clara county and am happy to chat about longer or recurring visits whenever scheduling allows.

On Wednesdays, I am not available for visits during the hours of 4:30pm to 6:30 pm. Please make sure you do not need me during that time before placing your booking.

What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?
I’ve been caretaker to my cat for six years now. As a sitter, I've gotten to know all kinds of cats—playful kittens, friendly adults, seniors, and shy cats who need a bit more time to warm up to new people. Cat parents often tell me they appreciate my detailed updates, photos, and videos after each visit, as well as the attentive care I provide.
What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
I love getting to know each cat's unique personality! Some are playful and energetic, while others are shy and take time to warm up. I truly enjoy spending time with cats and figuring out what makes each one feel happy and comfortable.
Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
For the past six years, I’ve had Mango, my friendly orange tabby. She’s super social and loves meeting new people—she’ll lick your hand as soon as you go to pet her! Mango is really food-motivated, so with some treats and a bit of patience, she’s learned some fun tricks like spinning and sitting on command. She does have a few extra care needs, so I’ve got hands-on experience with giving her medications (both topical and oral) and keeping up with her dietary restrictions.
What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?
I like to start by learning about your cat’s personality, routine, and any special needs they might have. I ask about things like favorite toys, feeding schedules, hiding spots, and any health concerns. Once I start sitting, I keep you updated with messages and photos, so you know how your cat is doing. My goal is always to make sure your cat feels safe and at ease.
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
A lot of the cats I care for can be shy or a bit anxious at first, so I let them take their time and come to me when they feel ready. I keep my movements slow, speak softly, and give them space to observe me. I try not to make direct eye contact, I extend my hand so they can get acquainted, and I pay attention to their body language to understand what they're comfortable with. Some cats warm up quickly when I play with them or give them treats, while others just want some quiet company. I’m happy to meet them wherever they're at. My goal is always to help them feel secure, relaxed, and cared for while you’re away.

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

San Mateo cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $38.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.
Cats are territorial animals and don't do well in new environments. The presence of other cats, dogs, and even birds in kennels or animal hotels cause an immense amount of stress. This is why Meowtel was created, so tailored in-home care is brought to you.
We recommend booking daily visits to keep your cats in their routine and help minimize feline anxiety while you're away.
