Throughout my life, I’ve had a number of cats and have been a pet parent to my most precious Levi for 15 years! My friendly personality and calming energy is one that cats respond well to, especially when meeting and taking care of new kitties. I think they can sense that I am secretly obsessed with them, so that probably helps!
So what can you expect from me as your future cat sitter? Well, outside of the smooth and seamless process, during cat visits, I always take my time in meeting your cat where they’re at, even if that means laying on the floor, to get on their level... It is my absolute priority for both cat baby and parent to have a stress free, smooth and fun experience all around.

I am a natural observer and stay attuned to what your fur baby might be needing outside of the given pets, feeding, and cleaning. You can be sure that I stay on my toes and will keep your cat safe, happy, and calm. I am also a cleanliness ambassador so am sure to keep things tidy, which we know cats love. And the best part, I am sure to get in lots of pets and play time should they be interested in that, and if not, well I’ll be sad, but that’s ok too.
With all this being said, the level of care and attention I can provide you and your cat is likely what you are looking for in a sitter. Not only are my years of kitty experience valuable, as I know what is required to take care of cats but more importantly, I understand how they move in the world and genuinely have so much love for them.

Starting August 4, I am unable Cat Sit Monday-Friday, between the hours of 8am-4pm, due to my full time work schedule. However, I am available in the evenings, all day on weekends, as well as overnights depending on the dates.

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
I enjoy the newness of it all! Each cat is so different and brings such a unique experience to the job. It’s fun to meet all the different personalities and try to figure them out by helping them feel safe and at ease. And of course, just cats. All day, love them and love being around them.
Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
I had my cat Levi for 15 years, since he was 6 months old. Sadly, I had to put him down on December 26 but he was my best friend and we had been through it allllll together!
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
With lots of patience, strategy, and sometimes treats (per cat parent permission ! Generally speaking, it’s important for anxious cats to take the lead in what they feel ready for. This is that whole, meeting the cat where they are at. When it comes to working with these timid babies, I am always sure to get some best practices from their pet parent surrounding favorite toys, safe places , and where they enjoy pets. By using this information when handling a timid cat, they are more likely to gain my trust because there is familiarity. In addition, I may use treats, with the cat parents permission, to encourage the cat out of any hiding spaces or to begin to get in closer proximity to me. Lastly, my energy has an impact on the cat as well so it’s important I also enter every cat visit with calm and gentleness.

Shannon was wonderful with my cat Mayari! She was attentive to her needs, voiced concerns if there were subtle changes in her behavior or if the weather would have been uncomfortable. Toward the end of our trip our cat already trusted her enough to cuddle her. I would definitely have her watch Mayari again.

Due to high demand during holidays, sitters on Meowtel have the option to set their own holiday price increase, which can be found in the rates section of their profiles. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.
These are the date ranges in 2026 to which the holiday surcharge applies:

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

San Mateo cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $39.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
