I currently work from home, which allows flexibility in caring for cats throughout the day.
I found Meowtel while looking for solutions for care for my cat while I was away, so I’m excited to ... I love all things cats. I rescued my first cat, a Lynxpoint Siamese back in 2019 but I had unofficially adopted my husband’s cat prior to that for the last ten years of his life.
I currently work from home, which allows flexibility in caring for cats throughout the day.
I found Meowtel while looking for solutions for care for my cat while I was away, so I’m excited to be on the other end of helping my fellow cat parents.
I can cater to the specific needs of your cat(s) and will treat them like my own fur babe. I’m looking forward to ensuring your cat’s routine is not disturbed when you have to be away.

What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?
My first cat sitting experience was in November 2023. It has been really rewarding taking care of the kitties I’ve met. I still think about the cats I’ve cared for. :)
What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
I enjoy seeing all types of kitties and spending time with them. It is a seratonin boost to pet and play with cats. It’s a lot of fun.
Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
I rescued a Lynxpoint Siamese in 2019. He was approximately 6 months old at the time. His name is Lynx and he is the best.
Are you usually available during holidays?
Yes, I am typically available during holidays and holiday weekends. If there is a day that you don’t see available, please send me a message and I can look at my schedule.
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
I let the cats take the lead. I will do what needs to be done to make sure they have food, water and clean litter. If they don’t want to engage with me, I’ll sit in a neutral area of the home to ensure they know I am not a threat. Most of the time, cats will come around and will end up enjoying my company.

Melissa was absolutely amazing as my cat-sitter! Reliable, dependable, upbeat, caring, and friendly! She left me details about my cat and took photos of the empty food bowls after arriving every morning! It's always reassuring when I can see that my cat has been eating! Melissa was prompt with her visits (8am-9am) and had great attention to detail. A couple times, my shy cat was hiding during her visit, but on one visit, She was able to spot the cat in the living room and took a video of my cat doing some very sad and soulful meowing. Melissa spoke sweetly and softly on the video, reassuring the cat that she was safe, and that I'd be back home soon. It was so touching to be able to view that video! Melissa treated my Meezer like it was her own cat! I never for a moment worried about my cat's care, and was able to fully relax and enjoy my vacation! I highly recommend Melissa and plan to use her as my permanent cat-sitter whenever I'm away!

She also offered to help with things that needed to get done around the house like watering plants and taking out the trash. I would definitely book with Melissa again and would recommend her to anyone looking for a kitty sitter!

As with anyone who loves their precious furbaby, I was very anxious about the whole thing. but after meeting Melissa, I knew I could enjoy my vacation. she is very considerate and a really sweet person. Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

San Mateo cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $39.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.
Cats are territorial animals and don't do well in new environments. The presence of other cats, dogs, and even birds in kennels or animal hotels cause an immense amount of stress. This is why Meowtel was created, so tailored in-home care is brought to you.
We recommend booking daily visits to keep your cats in their routine and help minimize feline anxiety while you're away.
Each visit typically includes: feeding, refreshing water bowls, litter box scooping, tidying up, medications, updates with photos, lots of playtime, and any special requests. Ask your sitter about a Meet & Greet!
