Cat Sitting in Thousand Oaks, CA

I want to start off by saying that I have always loved cats, and I grew up with two cats as a child. That was my first introduction to cats.

I moved to Thousand Oaks in 2023 with my two black, domestic short hair, rescue cats, Boba (4y 3mo) and Pirate (3y 8mo).

A little about me, I work in the entertainment & tech industry and run a production company, so I will make sure my schedule matches my business schedule. I love cats, and I love taking care of cats. Pirate’s special needs taught me I like helping animals, so I wish to give back to the cat community.

Both of my cats have specific health conditions, considering they are street/shelter rescues.

Boba had giardia as a kitten which wasn't diagnosed until after we adopted her. Because of this, she developed IBD, resulting in her dietary needs being based upon veterinary prescriptions.

Pirate, on the other hand, was diagnosed with Wet Form FIP as a 7-month-old kitten on Jan 4, 2022 weighing only 6lbs 13oz...

Boba had giardia as a kitten which wasn't diagnosed until after we adopted her. Because of this, she developed IBD, resulting in her dietary needs being based upon veterinary prescriptions.

Pirate, on the other hand, was diagnosed with Wet Form FIP as a 7-month-old kitten on Jan 4, 2022 weighing only 6lbs 13oz. Our vet told us he had 3 days to live and that she couldn't prescribe any treatment because none exists within the veterinary circles, but that we should look into clinical studies testing a new FIP cure, GS-441524, originating from the UCD-Pedersen study. We promptly joined a clinical study (and national network of FIP cat parents) and got the medicine for Pirate. I gave him 4 weeks of daily subcutaneous injections, followed by 9 weeks of daily tablets (up to 6 pills a day), and observed his recovery for another 12 weeks. The same Vet declared Pirate FIP cured on June 26, 2022! Pirate is a happy boy and weighs a hefty 11lbs now. I am well versed in giving and observing cats that require medicine.

Please feel free to message me if you have any specific medical treatment your cat requires. I have done eye drops, subcutaneous injections, and oral pills for my own cats before. Message me about your needs and I will meet them for you!

I have reliable transportation. 2 cars to be specific.

Examples of cats I’ve sitted for:

- 7yr old shorthair with IBD
- 2x young rescues
- 13yo with kidney disease needing IV subq fluids, and a 5yo companion
- 2 big fluffy friends
- a senior Stray Cat Alliance foster rescue
- a senior orange kitty who needed daily subcutaneous fluids
- a sassy senior needing SubQ, her two friendly cousins, and a timid new kitten addition

Subcutaneous clients counter: 4

Learn More About Jordan

What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?

I have been catsitting since 2021. But my experience with cat care go back into the 1990s. I have experience with subq fluids for elderly cats

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?

I enjoy being able to spend time with cats who are looking for attention. Most of the time while they are being catsit for, they are looking for human interaction, so I ensure to give them quality attention and playtime

Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?

Yes, Boba who is 4 years old, and Pirate who is 3 years old. Both were strays turned into spoiled house cats

What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?

I do a meet and greet for both the parents and the cat(s). I will over send photos to show you the state they are in, as well as update regarding food and litter. I am always open for phone calls as well

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

I make sure to give them their space to feel comfortable. I will ensure I have visual of each cat before leaving to ensure they are safe. All interactions are reported to the cat parent.

This was my first time using Meowtel and I’m so happy with my choice to book Jordan! Jordan was extremely thoughtful m, communicative, and speedy with his responses. My kitties warmed up to him very quickly and he provided detailed updates with thoughtful photos. Jordan was happy to answer any questions I had and never hesitated if I asked him for additional help (to check the automatic feeder, cat camera, etc). I know that my kitties were in great care with him- will definitely book again!

10/10 would recommended and book Jordan again. I have four total, but one is a spicy senior that needs Sub Q fluids and has some digestive issues. Jordan was SO patient and caring when it came to her needs. He is a great communicator and an all around kind human. Happy cats. Thrilled owner.

Jordan was terrific taking care of our shy old kitty with kidney issues. He was a pro at administering subcutaneous injections to a nervous patient and he made sure all of her pills, powders, and drops were mixed into her food just right. We really appreciated the daily photo and video updates, too!

Jordan did a great job making sure my cats (and I !) were comfortable while I was out of town. Communicative and thorough, he cleaned up a puke mess after my cat made a raid on the treat bag and texted me to make sure I knew what was going on.

Working with Jordan was excellent. This is the first time I had to use a pet sitting service as one of my cats recently began requiring medicine twice a day and sub-q fluids. I have two cats and one is special needs with kidney issues and needs specifically timed meds and food. Jordan visited twice a day, sending us texts when he was on his way each time and sent lots of photos and videos. At the end, he sent us a nice write up of his time with the cats. When we came home, the house was clean and both boys were as happy as could be! I highly recommend having Jordan take care of your cats.

Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

If it doesn't feel like a purrfect fit after a Meet & Greet or during a reservation, our support team is here to help at 1-844-Meowtel (1-844-636-9835). We'll take time to understand what happened and help you consider next steps, which could include help with a new reservation.

Thousand Oaks cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $33.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.

Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.

Cats are territorial animals and don't do well in new environments. The presence of other cats, dogs, and even birds in kennels or animal hotels cause an immense amount of stress. This is why Meowtel was created, so tailored in-home care is brought to you.

We recommend booking daily visits to keep your cats in their routine and help minimize feline anxiety while you're away.

Each visit typically includes: feeding, refreshing water bowls, litter box scooping, tidying up, medications, updates with photos, lots of playtime, and any special requests. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet!
