What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?

I've been doing it for about 8 years. I started out by cat sitting for friends, family, and neighbors and found that I really enjoyed it.

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?

I love meeting new cats and all their quirky personalities. That's why I'm studying vet med because taking care of animals brings me joy.

Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?

I have two beautiful cats, Wilson and Butters. Wilson is my grey baby who has a big personlity and has lots of energy. Butters is my orange cat who is just like Garfield. Butters has mild asthma and also is a very anxious cat that takes anxiety medication so I know how to handle timid cats.

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

I learned a lot through my cat Butters on how to handle anxious cats. Give them space and when they're curious let them sniff without pushing any boundaries. Once they're a little more comfortable offer treats or pets to show I'm safe and they can trust me. Lots of patience and reassurance.

Andy was amazing and gave us total peace of mind when we had to leave for a few days this month! One of our cats needs medication and she made sure he got it every day. Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:


  • More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
  • 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
  • Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.

All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.

Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.
