My name is Helen and I have been a cat mom to my fur baby Puma since 2008. She’s a senior kitty now at 18! I have always loved cats (had two growing up) and having my own was a dream come true. I have traded cat sitting with friends for many years and finally decided I should turn it into a side hustle! I work from home and have the flexibility to care for your kitties on whatever schedule is needed (as long as I still get home to give my own kitty her meds of course!). What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?

My favorite part about cat sitting is the cats! They have always been my favorite animal and I love their sassy and independent personalities. If my kitty didn’t dislike other cats I would probably have so many cats!

Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?

I have one kitty named Puma. I would have more except Puma doesn’t like other kitties so we are a solo kitty household! She is 18 now and we are giving her the most love we can in her senior years.

What is your favorite cat toy?

This is a trick question because it totally depends on what the cat likes! I have what I call the “rainbow string” and that is a favorite because it doesn’t get caught on claws too easily and it is fun to play with on floors, sofas, or beds. I’m careful with any toys involving feathers because so many kitties like to eat them! If I play with a laser pointer I always make sure to give lots of positive reinforcement and treats when we are done so the cat feels like they “caught” it.

Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:

More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.

All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.

Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.
