During each visit, I will:
- Feed your cats according to your instructions
- Change water in all water bowls
- Scoop all litter boxes and refill litter as necessary
- Handle unexpected incidents such as vomit or accidents outside the litter box
- Check all automatic feeders, water fountains, and litter robots to ensure they are working well, and refill or change bags as needed (if applicable)
- Send you a summary with pictures
- Play with your cats with any remaining time
I am also experienced in administering injections, inhaler, or ointments if your cats have special needs.

What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?
I have been providing cat sitting services in the area for two years. I have experience with kittens, senior cats, cats with special needs, and of course, healthy adult cats. I am also experienced in administering injections, inhaler, or ointments.
What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
Meeting new cats is always a pleasure! Each cat has its own unique personality, and cat sitting gives me the chance to meet different cats and play with them.
Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
I do! I have a super handsome tabby cat named Zai. He works as my personal alarm, waking me up at 6 every morning. He's so reliable that he never misses a day, even on my days off when I don't need to wake up that early.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?
If time allows, schedule a Meet & Greet with the cat sitter before you leave for your trip. Always leave detailed instructions.
What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?
I always try to schedule a Meet & Greet with my new clients before they leave town. If it's a last-minute booking and the client is not available to meet, I ask them to send me the instructions via chat.
How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?
During the Meet & Greet, I will ask about the cats' behavior and the house/Apartment in general (e.g., Do the cats have chewing issues? Are there any rooms they don’t have access to?). During my visits, I don't let the cats outside unless the owner requests it. I always pay close attention when entering and exiting the house to ensure no cats escape. I keep doors and windows closed and double-check that the door is locked behind me. I always follow the owner's instructions, so if you have any concerns, please feel free to let me know.
Are you usually available during holidays?

What is your favorite cat toy?
Pom poms! My cat is a huge fan of those soft pom poms and loves to chase them around. I also enjoy using cat teasers to play hunting games with him.
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
Usually, I let them be for a while and never approach cats against their will. Instead, I prefer to let the cats come to me. I start by preparing their food and water, allowing timid cats to observe me from a distance. I also like to sit on the floor when interacting with them, so I don’t appear too large and help them feel more secure.

Xiaomin went above and beyond for us and our kitties. Before the holidays, one of our kitties was unexpectedly diagnosed with IBD. We thought we had everything under control before leaving, but turned out not. Xiaomin gave our little guy the pills he needed and kept a close and caring eye on him. We ended up booking her for extra morning time. Knowing we could trust her gave us much peace of mind. She's an amazing cat sitter!

I needed to leave town for the weekend, it was very last minute and Xiamen stepped up to the plate to save the day (well, really the entire weekend). She went above and beyond making sure my two kitties were safe and sound. She cleaned out the water fountain and filled it with fresh water, cleaned all their used wet food plates, made sure the litter box was spotless and made sure each kitty got play, pets and love and plenty of fresh food. I would definitely book Xiaomin as my pet sitter in the future. And hopefully, I can give her more notice next time. Thank you again, Xiaomin!

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Walnut Creek cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $37.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.

We worked with Xiaomin over the Thanksgiving holiday. She did a great job of taking care of our two kitties, coming by twice a day. She kept us updated with photos and notes. Our cats had to be kept separate during our trip because they had been reactive to each other at night after seeing an animal out the window. She was able to work with this wrinkle with no problems.

Communication with Xiaomin was timely and clear in the confirming of the reservation and visit timing. We appreciated Xiaomin stopping by for a short review of our home set-up in advance of the actual visits and liked that she lives just a few minutes from our home. When we were gone Xiaomin handled the feeding and litter box scooping very well, and also brought in our mail and newspaper. Having Xiaomin taking care of my cat was a truly life-changing experience. I feel like I can travel now without constantly worrying about his welfare and whether he's feeling lonely.
