What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?

I have many current and past cat sitting clients. I have been pet sitting part-time for more than 20 years and full-time for 8 years.

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?

I am a very attentive cat sitter since spending time with your cat is my primary "kitty time".

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?

Always try book a meet-and-greet with your sitter so that you can review your cat's routines and preferences, where their food and litter boxes are kept and how to enter and exit your home safely. This also allows you to get to know us a little bit and do a supervised introduction with your furry family members.

What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?

I prefer to start a new client relationship with a meet-and-greet. This helps me see how they live in their own home and how I can best care for them. I learn their eating habits, the schedules of their family and if they are fearful or more outgoing. In this meeting we cover where their food is stored, where they typically spend their time, how the like to socialize and how to securely enter and exit the home. I am also available then for go questions and inquiries from the pet parents. This meeting usually puts everyone at ease with a new person in the home.

Are you usually available during holidays?

Yes, I enjoy working during the holidays. I periodically visit family and friends throughout the year but I like to be available for clients during popular travel seasons.

What is your favorite cat toy?

I love a flirt toy. Using one of these will often bring out kitten behavior in even the most serious of feline companions.

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

I give them a lot of space. I avoid direct eye contact and make sure that I am aware of their hiding spaces without invading them. I also offer treats (especially Churu/tubet reats) if appropriate for their diet and with permission from pet parents.

My ill-behaved, special needs kitty loves his Auntie Liz. Liz is attuned to the ephemeral nature of cats, and very proactive in noticing and communicating any behavioral changes. She has always recommended solutions in addition to flagging issues, which puts me at ease from far away. She is experienced in administering medication in all forms, grooming an unwilling participant, adjusting feedings based on behavior, and patiently coaxing a shy kitty out. I only wish I, too, could be home for Liz’s visits, as she is a delight to chat with and an encyclopedia of cat care.

Cancellation Policy

Cat parents may cancel within 24 hours of making their reservation and receive a full refund, and the sitter will not receive any earnings. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:

Cat parents will receive a full refund to their Account Balance if they cancel anytime up to 48 hours before the start date of the reservation, and the sitter will not receive any earnings.

Cat parents will receive a 50% refund, and the sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings if the cat parent cancels between 24-48 hours of the start of the reservation.

No refund will be issued within 24 hours of the reservation, and the sitter will keep 100% of their planned earnings.
