Before becoming a cat sitter, I worked as a veterinary technician assistant, which gave me extensive hands-on experience with medically complex cats. I’m comfortable administrating oral medications, inhalers, injectable medications, subcutaneous fluids, and following precise feeding or medical routines. I know how stressful it can be to leave a member of the family behind, and my goal is to give cat parents complete peace of mind - with timely updates, detailed visit notes, and lots of photos.
At home, I have my own medically complex (and delightfully spunky) Bengal cat named Basil. She keeps me humble and reminds me every day how important it is to have a sitter you fully trust. Living with her has given me firsthand insight into managing complex care schedules, reading subtle behavior cues, and making cats feel safe during transitions.
When I’m not caring for cats, I work full-time in cancer research and unwind with needlepoint, reading, and cozy evenings with Basil.

What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?
My introduction to cat sitting was while perusing my graduate degree in Fort Collins. It allowed me to have a temporary pet with my academic schedule constraints. It was incredibly fulfilling and was a fantastic way to meet a variety of people and animals.
Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
I do! I have a Bengal cat named Basil. She is the highlight and energy ball of the family. You can usually find her sprinting away on her cat wheel or yelling at you to play fetch!
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?
That’s a fantastic question! For one, look for a cat sitter that matches your cat’s needs. If your kitty has medical conditions, anxiety, or quirky routines (don’t they all?!)- make sure your sitter is comfortable handling those situations and will feel comfortable handling unexpected situations. Secondly, ask questions! A good sitter won’t mind providing clarification and explaining their approach or how they handle emergencies. As a cat owner myself, I would prefer to over communicate with the own than have any pet parent spending their time away worried about their cats at home while they are away!

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Lafayette cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $29.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
