What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?
I have been cat sitting for over 12 years professionally. I have experience caring for playful kittens , shy older cats, cats that have health conditions and require medications.
Can you tell us about your favorite cat sitting reservation?
I cat sat a cat for a summer. They had me house sit as well. My dog stayed at the house sitting- as part of the arrangement . After the summer was over the owner realized that the she couldn’t keep her cat anymore. The cat and my dog had become bff’s. I agreed to adopt Aspen-because I loved her SO much! I am so glad that I was in a position to give her a forever home when she needed one.
What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?
I always do a meet and greet to go over all of their specific care instructions. No two kitties are the same. It’s important for the owner to find a cat sitter that their cats are comfortable with and the owner is comfortable.

Sarah is the cat whisperer! Our three kitties are quite shy and don’t like people, but they have warmed up to her! One of the cats needs daily medication and Sarah has given him the pills without a problem. She also sends great updates and photos. This is the second time we booked with Sarah and we look forward to working with her again!

Puma has kidney failure and, as such, needs daily subcutaneous fluids, and oral meds every other day, both of which he dislikes. In all fairness to any sitter, we knew it would be difficult for anyone but us to administer them. So it proved. In spite of all Sarah could do, he never was willing to let her try it, after the first time. Perhaps, in spite of the gentle way she approached him, he began to associate her visits with it, and only it. At any rate, this review should not be construed as a negative about Sarah; we all were surprised by his reaction.

Holiday Surcharge
Due to high demand during holidays, sitters on Meowtel have the option to set their own holiday price increase, which can be found in the rates section of their profiles. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.
These are the date ranges in 2026 to which the holiday surcharge applies:

- January 16-22: MLK Day
- February 13-19: Presidents Day
- May 22-28: Memorial Day
- June 16-22: Juneteenth
- July 1-7: July 4th

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Broomfield cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $29.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.

Sarah was amazing from the start. When we met up for the meet and greet, I knew she was a good choice from how she spoke about her love for cats and also her energy. Sarah was always very quick to respond and provide any clarifications needed. She was consistent with her care and always sent me photo updates of my fur babies. Sarah spent time trying to connect with the girls and gain their trust. I truly appreciate Sarah and the care she took over the holiday with my cats. I will absolutely use her again. This was a great first experience using Meowtel and it’s nice to know this service retains high level caretakers.

Sarah genuinely loves cats, and this comes across in the texts she sends after each visit. She shares photos and brief updates twice daily that make it clear not only that she is fulfilling her cat-sitting responsibilities but that she is enjoying her time with our cats. This provides us with the peace of mind we need to enjoy our time away. We struggled to find a reliable and responsible cat-sitter until we found Sarah two years ago, and it was stressful to leave our cats at home. Sarah changed that for us completely.
