My cat background: All my life I've had cats. So far in my lifetime, I've owned 8 cats who have been a variety of colors, shapes, ages, and had various medical histories; some years I've owned as many as 4 at a time! Needless to say, I come from a big family of cat lovers! :)
Currently, I live with my husband and have 2 "roommates": an adorable, sweet, one-eared 14 year old cat named Lola (who was a rescue) and a corgi-mix 2 year old... Hi, my name is Stephanie and I'm a cat sitter located in Southeastern CT who would love to serve you in the role of loving, playing with, and caring for your cat(s) while you are away! While they are under my care, I aim to treat them like the kings and queens they imagine themselves to be. :)

Outside of cat sitting and caring for Lola and Rudy, I am a full time Dental Office Scheduling Coordinator. Due to my daytime job, I am unable to make morning and afternoon visits during the week, but I am more than happy to make visits after work in the evenings and on weekends!

What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?
I have been chosen to serve clients on more than 50 reservations since March of 2023 and I love doing it when I get the chance!
What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
I love getting to meet new cats and their owners, getting to play with the cats, and when the time is right if they decide to sit on my lap or rub up against my legs 🥰
Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
I have 1 cat named Lola who is 13 years old (though I would love to have more if it weren't for my apartment restrictions!)
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?
1. Check the sitter's ratings and reviews to decide who is the right cat sitter for you - the more positively written reviews the better! 2. Send the sitter a message to inquire about their availability and to let them know what you are looking for in terms of length and time of day visits or any other concerns. We are pretty flexible!
How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?
I always double check that doors are locked and locked properly when I leave to ensure unwanted critters or visiters are not able to enter. Sometimes I also leave a light on to ward off strangers from thinking the house is empty.
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
I always give them a chance to warm up to me by getting down to their level, not approaching them by letting them approach me to know that they're safe with me :) I know it takes time for some cats and that is totally fine - everyone needs grace and some people are like too, so there's no rush on my end (though I love cats and would love to give them the attention they probably are wanting!)

Stephanie is consistently reliable and trustworthy as our sitter. It had been awhile since we needed her to sit for Clover and would be the first time in our new place. A few days before, she did another meet and greet and got reacquainted with Clover and her new surroundings. Clover instantly rubbed up against her and let Stephanie pet her. While we were away Stephanie provided a detailed update on Clover and multiple pictures of our playful happy kitty. It is such a comfort to know we have such an excellent sitter when we need/want to go out of town. Stephanie is worth every penny!

I travel a lot for work and have a shy kitty with separation anxiety. Stephanie does such a great job managing both my cat’s anxiety and my own when I’m away. My cat (who usually is nowhere to be seen when strangers are over) warmed up really quickly! I got lots of photo updates with detailed descriptions of what happened during the visits. I feel much better knowing my cat is in good hands and I would definitely recommend Stephanie’s services to anyone in need of a cat sitter.

Stephanie was a reliable caretaker who took care of my cat in the way I requested. In the meet & greet she came prepared to take notes, was attentive, and asked questions about things I forgot to mention. She was also patient with my shy cat and eventually my cat liked hanging out with her. While I was away from home, Stephanie gave me detailed daily updates on what was done that day and how my cat was doing which really put my mind at ease. Before her last day, she double-checked with me if I will arrive home on time to take care of my cat, which I did appreciate. Overall, Stephanie was great and I feel comfortable having her cat sit in the future.

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Groton cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $24.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
