I have experience in giving kitties oral medications, in addition to topical ointments, ear drops, and subcutaneous fluids.
How I interact with cats that I am ... I have been a cat mom most of my life. One of the vets I used nicknamed me the Cat Whisperer, because cats up for adoption in their office would quickly take to me and my own cats were so well adjusted and cared for.
I have experience in giving kitties oral medications, in addition to topical ointments, ear drops, and subcutaneous fluids.
How I interact with cats that I am sitting differs with the cat's personality. I can be calm and reassuring, playful, and/or cuddly. I have never met a cat that I was unable to bond with. One of the neighborhood outdoor cats adopted me as his mother, and now spends most of his time indoors.
After a successful managerial career, I am now retired and eager to spend time caring for people's precious fur babies.

What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?
I have watched friends' cats and have had my own cats for years. While new to being an official sitter, cats have always been one of my passions. After retiring, I look forward to being entrusted with the care of clients' cats and am really looking foreward to meeting new kitty friends. I promise to treat all cats as if they were my own. I have the ability to stay extra time providing love to the kitties at no additional charge, if desired. It will be a privilege to be entrusted with the care and well-being of my clients' cats, whether it be a single kitty or multiple cats. Each cat has a different personality and I am happy to provide individualized attention. I can also pick up mail, take out garbage, and water plants during my visits.
What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
Knowing that I am providing the best possible experience for both the owners and their pets is the most rewarding to me. As a pet owner, I understand the worry of leaving the responsibility for my beloved babies to someone else while I am not home.
Can you tell us about your favorite cat sitting reservation?
My ideal cat sitting reservation would be to meet the client and the cat(s) beforehand, to be sure I understand the requirements and to hopefully start to gain the cat's trust. I could also explain my requirements, such as receiving information regarding any medical or behavioral concerns and being provided with emergency contacts.

Cheryl was such a great sitter and I would absolutely use her again. I needed a sitter fairly last minute and she responded quickly to the request. She showed up on time for every visit and was a great communicator. Her attention to detail and the updates she provided were also greatly appreciated while I was traveling. My little kitty can be a bit spicy with new people but Cheryl took the time to get to know her and, based on the videos she sent of the visits, they are now besties! Totally recommend.

my Mom is in the hospital and Cheryl provided us both cat sitting and emotional support. my mom‘s cats loved her. I would have to say they were a bit disappointed when I (daughter)showed up and not Cheryl. I and my mom looked forward to the daily updates and the cats were so very happy with her. thank you! we will definitely be reserving time with Cheryl in the future.

Holiday Surcharge
Due to high demand during holidays, sitters on Meowtel have the option to set their own holiday price increase, which can be found in the rates section of their profiles. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.
These are the date ranges in 2026 to which the holiday surcharge applies:
- January 1-4: New Year's 2026
- January 16-22: MLK Day
- February 13-19: Presidents Day
- May 22-28: Memorial Day
- June 16-22: Juneteenth
- July 1-7: July 4th
- September 4-10: Labor Day
- October 9-15: Columbus Day / Indigenous Peoples' Day
- November 8-14: Veterans Day
- November 23-29: Thanksgiving

- December 29-31: New Year's 2027

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Jacksonville cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $22.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.
