What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?
I have been pet sitting for all kinds of animals, including sitting on a mini farm for my own veterinarian, for 3 years here in Jacksonville. I have had pets all of my life. I worked in a vet clinic in my twenties and then I worked in the medical field in the sleep lab. I have excellent patient/ pet care experience. I come from a family who always have had and still have kitties. I just love kitties so much and really enjoy meeting new kitty friends!
What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
Definitely meeting new cat friends and learning their different personalities. They are all so beautiful and unique! I have nurturing nature so I just truly enjoying caring for pets of all kinds including my own.
Can you tell us about your favorite cat sitting reservation?
When I did pet sitting for my veterinarian. She has nine cats! She also has a mini farm. Feeding time is just so much fun when they all come running!
Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
Yes! King and Zara 😻😻 Zara is still just a baby at 4 months old. King is 9 and moved with us from upstate NY.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?
I would advise them to hire someone who has experience owning AND caring for other cats than their own. Cats have very different personalities.
What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?
I’d at up meat and greet so that I can learn about the cat and also where food is kept and if any meds need to be given.
How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?
I make sure doors are securely closed and any doors to the garage, etc. I also make sure cupboards are closed so they can’t get into anything dangerous. Check the surroundings for anything that could be hazardous.
Are you usually available during holidays?
Yes I am available for holidays. If I ever do travel for a holiday it would be once every couple of years.
What is your favorite cat toy?
I like the classic toys on a stick. It lets me get a chance to interact with them and I really enjoy watching them play and bounce all around.
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
I make sure not to face them head and turn to my side so they do t see me as a threat. I give them plenty of space.

Holiday Surcharge
Due to high demand during holidays, sitters on Meowtel have the option to set their own holiday price increase, which can be found in the rates section of their profiles. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.
These are the date ranges in 2026 to which the holiday surcharge applies:

- January 16-22: MLK Day
- February 13-19: Presidents Day
- May 22-28: Memorial Day
- June 16-22: Juneteenth
- July 1-7: July 4th
- September 4-10: Labor Day
- October 9-15: Columbus Day / Indigenous Peoples' Day

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
