I have rescued at least twenty cats in my neighborhood and captured, had spayed or neutered, obtained necessary medical care and socialized them... I was five years old when we adopted our first cat and I have had a love affair with cats ever since. My husband and I have had from one to eight cats at a time over the past 35 years. We currently have six and our home would not be complete without them. Several of our furry family members have lived over 17 years. I am now retired from my professional business career in Human Resources and I have the luxury of pursuing part-time work that is close to my nature and the most personally fulfilling.
I have rescued at least twenty cats in my neighborhood and captured, had spayed or neutered, obtained necessary medical care and socialized them. Depending upon what was best for the cat, I either released or arranged adoption (several of them became our pets).
I have volunteered for and supported animal shelters over many years. I have cared for neighbors' and friends' countless cats, dogs, rabbits, birds, rats and mice. My experience includes caring for elderly and/or ailing cats and administering oral and topical medications, injections and subcutaneous fluids.
My visits include cleaning and filling food and water dishes, maintaining litter boxes, sweeping, taking out the trash, bringing in your mail and packages if you desire and loads of loving and playtime with your cat(s). I will send a daily text message which includes at least one photo and a video. I know how stressful it can be to leave my cats and I want to be able to provide you with peace of mind while providing love and care for your unique and beautiful feline family members.

What is your favorite cat toy?
Uahpet (the fountain company) has the very BEST cat wand! You can't find it at pet stores, online only at their site. The wand is extendable and flexible and comes with multiple toy attachments that the kitties love. The favorite seems to be a dragonfly that crinkles and has streamers. This wand is more expensive than most but it's excellent quality, no dangerous fishing wire, and great toys! I have one and I buy them as gifts for other cat lovers.
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
I recognize that I must earn their trust. I always approach them slowly, speaking to them softly and with my hand out so they can get my scent. I use their name frequently and tell them they are handsome, gorgeous, beautiful, smart etc. (because they all are) and that I would never hurt them. I do this each visit. Some shy kitties let me pet them at the very first meeting using this technique- totally surprising their kitty parent. The most time it's taken is two visits for the very reclusive kitty. A few times, for the most anxious kittys, I've incorporated treats into my technique. It is SO rewarding when we have formed that trusting bond!

This was my first time having a cat sitter in our home. Susanne went above and beyond my expectations. She was so kind, attentive, and my patient with my Felix. He’s not normally used to strangers but that did not deter her from getting him to like her. She talked to him, got him new toys, and showered him with love. This was only the second time we had ever used a cat sitter. We were leaving for an extended vacation out of the country and were very concerned about our one-year-old baby, Eevee. She is shy and doesn’t usually warm up to strangers, but once she forms a bond, she is incredibly loving and sweet. Not everyone is able to connect with our Eevee, but Susanne was determined. She went above and beyond, and before long, Eevee knew she had made a new friend! Susanne cared for Eevee with the same love and attention that we do. She took the time to talk to her, play with her (even bringing her new toys!), and give her plenty of affection. The time she spent with Eevee was truly quality time. Susanne kept us informed every day and sent amazing videos and adorable photos that brought so much joy to our family. We looked forward to her updates every single day! Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Lutz cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $26.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.
Cats are territorial animals and don't do well in new environments. The presence of other cats, dogs, and even birds in kennels or animal hotels cause an immense amount of stress. This is why Meowtel was created, so tailored in-home care is brought to you.
We recommend booking daily visits to keep your cats in their routine and help minimize feline anxiety while you're away.

She went above and beyond. She was really amazing, I got every possible update (about the weather, about my cat). I did not have to worry for a single second that Jhene wasn't in good hands, which was so comforting. Susanne was an A++ cat sitter from beginning to end. She was communicative, personable, thoughtful, thorough, and kind. I have a shy kitty, but by the second day, he trusted her and came out for pets and playtime. That says everything! I felt safe and worry free knowing that Susanne was taking care of my kitty. She even drove over to my apartment to return the key to me with a thank you card. I'm not sure for what because I should be the one thanking her. I want to preface that this was my first time using a cat sitter overall! I've always left my cats with friends or relatives so I was super apprehensive. Susanne never took her duties lightly!! Susanne is very personable and she reassured me my babies would be treated with kindness, respect, and love. She did that and MORE. Susanne is amazing!! She cleaned up after my cats, made sure they were fed and she even did some housekeeping that she DID NOT have to do. Oh and she even watered my plants, all without even asking!! I was a little stressed to go out of town and leave our 2 fur bablies - especially since 1 was diagnosed with diabetes last year and requires insulin shots twice a day. I found Meowtel, read reviews and booked Susanne and boy - talk about a game changer!! Over the years, I have had numerous occasions to employ a pet sitter. I can honestly saySusanne was the best! She fed and cared for my kittens just like I would do if I were home. She played with them and even won over my shy girl! Her updates after each visit were reassuring and the photos and videos fun to see and share with my hosts. My 11-month kitten Tuna loved Susanne’s company, and Susanne made sure to spend a little extra time when she noticed Tuna was feeling lonely in my absence. Susanne was wonderful. She mastered the routines for my many cats. she spent time getting to know as many as possible and enjoying them. I was surprised that they were as friendly with her as they were. Everything was ship shape. I have no reservations about leaving them with Susanne. This is the second time Susanne has taken care of our diabetic boy. She is so wonderful with him! I think he wants us to leave more often so Ms. Susanne will come take care of him! Highly recommend!

Susanne did an outstanding job caring for our fur babies! Her love and passion for cats truly shine through in her work, and both of our cats felt at ease with her right away. She kept us updated after each visit, sending plenty of photos that gave us peace of mind. Knowing our cats – and our home – were in such capable and loving hands made our time away so much easier. We will absolutely use her again whenever we're out of town. Highly recommend Susanne to anyone looking for a dedicated and caring cat sitter!

I’ve been booking Susanne since November 2023, my cats love her so much that sometimes I get jealous lol (just kidding!!). She went above and beyond with taking care of my babies, and we are so glad we found her!!! Susanne is the absolute best. Took away all the stress around leaving my babies for the first time in a long time. I now feel like I can Make future plans to travel again because of her. I think One of my cats likes her better than me lol. Came home to peace and calm and a clean litter box.
