Sushi was originally believed to be around 3 years old, but about 9 months later, we discovered that he was actually at least 10 years old and had cancer in his eye. Sadly, he crossed the rainbow bridge and left us with broken hearts. We miss him dearly, and while we aren’t ready to welcome another cat into our home just yet, I would love to spend that time giving another cat the same love, patience, and care I gave to Sushi🩵
I have experience caring for senior cats and... Hi, I’m Josie! 🐾 I’ve been caring for my friends’ and family’s fur babies for about 7 years, with experience caring for both cats and dogs. Over the past couple of years, my boyfriend and I also had the opportunity to foster two cats and adopt one of our own, Sushi Martin, a Sphynx who quickly became a very special part of our family.

I have experience caring for senior cats and administering oral medications, including pills and liquid medications, as well as applying topical ointments when needed. I understand that every cat is different, especially when it comes to their personality, comfort level, and routines.
During my visits, I’ll make sure your cat has everything they need while also giving them plenty of attention and companionship. Depending on their personality, that might mean playtime, cuddles, treats, or simply sitting nearby and keeping them company. I’ll provide fresh food and water, clean their litter box, administer medications if needed, send you photos and videos from our time together, and take care of any special requests you leave for me.
I’m especially patient with shy or skittish cats. I never want a cat to feel pressured to interact with me. I’ll give them the space they need, take the time to earn their trust, and let them come out and approach me when they’re comfortable.
Most importantly, I want you to feel confident knowing your cat is being cared for by someone who genuinely loves animals and treats every pet as an individual. My goal is for your kitty to feel safe, comfortable, loved, and well cared for while you’re away.

How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?
I take both the cat’s safety and the security of their home very seriously. Before leaving each visit, I make sure doors and windows are securely closed, the cat is safely inside, and anything they could potentially get into or knock over is addressed. I follow the owner’s instructions closely, including feeding schedules, medications, and any special routines or precautions. I’m also careful when entering and leaving the home to make sure the cat doesn’t try to sneak out. I’ll keep the cats area tidy and let the owner know right away if I notice anything unusual with their cat or in the home. I also provide photos and updates during my visits so you can have peace of mind while you’re away.
What is your favorite cat toy?
Definitely a wand toy! I love watching cats get excited while they chase, pounce, and try to catch whatever is on the end. I like that it gives us a chance to interact and play together while also letting them get some exercise. A laser is my second favorite cat toy! I’m always happy to let the cat choose the toy they love most, though!
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
I’m very patient with timid or anxious cats and never try to force interaction. I’ll give them the space they need and allow them to come out and approach me when they’re ready. I’ll spend time sitting nearby, talking to them softly, and using treats or toys to help them become more comfortable with me. My goal is to earn their trust rather than rush them. Even if a shy kitty never comes out of hiding during a visit, I’ll still make sure they’re safe, comfortable, fed, have fresh water, and have a clean litter box.

She sent me tons of pictures, updates, and was very detail oriented! My cat’s automatic litter box got stuck and Josie was so patient and took the time to figure out how fix it. I am hesitant to write a review because I don’t want her to get too booked up but it’s only fair after such a great job she did with our boy. She was extremely communicative, sent lots of pictures and videos and even went above and beyond cleaning litter, water and even the floor. Our Ziggy got a better treatment from Josie than from us. Highly recommend Josie for your kitty needs, we will definitely be using her moving forward.

I honestly can’t say enough good things! We have a few cats, and they all have completely different personalities. One of them is especially skittish and usually hides from anyone new, so I was a little worried about leaving them. Josie was so patient, gentle, and understanding with each of them, and it made such a difference. It gave us so much peace of mind knowing our babies were being cared for by someone who truly loves animals. We loved getting the updates and photos while we were away, and coming home to happy, well-cared-for cats was the best feeling. Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.

Miami cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $27.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
