What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?
I’ve been taking care of cats for 30 years. I’ve always had cats growing up, and I love giving them love and affection.
What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
I enjoy giving them the attention they need, and being patient with the ones that are a little scared. Patience is always a virtue with cats. I learned that with rescuing my baby cat I have now.
Can you tell us about your favorite cat sitting reservation?
My favorite cat story was when the kitty cat brought me a Qtip from the bathroom , and dropped it at my feet to throw!

Mary was so sweet and excellent with my shy kitty! She had to give oral medications and my cat is hesitant around unknown people. Mary was patient and went slow with my cat to make her feel comfortable. Everything went great! She kept the water dishes full and made sure the litter boxes were always cleaned. She is very sweet and patient. I would recommend her to anyone!

Mary was amazing! She was super responsive from the moment I reached out. You can see how much she loves kitties and she sent detailed updates each visit with lots of pictures and videos. My crazy kitten, Twerp, really loved her and she played with him so much. I was completely at ease knowing he was in excellent hands.

Mary fully lives up to her Cat Concierge service! She took care of my 20 year old, special needs kitty. Of course, all kitties have special needs and Mary is happy to care for them just as they would be cared by you. The sweetest moment was when she first arrived, my cat gave her leg a rub..and a lick! She was 'chosen'!!

This was my first time using a cat sitter but it will not be my last. Mary was fantastic with my little fur baby. I really appreciate the daily videos that Mary sent showing my little girl playing and enjoying her daily visits. Mary also offered to get my mail and water my plants if needed. It was great coming home to a clean little box and a happy cat.

Holiday Surcharge
Due to high demand during holidays, sitters on Meowtel have the option to set their own holiday price increase, which can be found in the rates section of their profiles. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.
These are the date ranges in 2026 to which the holiday surcharge applies:
- January 1-4: New Year's 2026
- January 16-22: MLK Day
- February 13-19: Presidents Day
- May 22-28: Memorial Day
- June 16-22: Juneteenth
- July 1-7: July 4th
- September 4-10: Labor Day
- October 9-15: Columbus Day / Indigenous Peoples' Day
- November 8-14: Veterans Day

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Saint Petersburg cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $25.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.
Cats are territorial animals and don't do well in new environments. The presence of other cats, dogs, and even birds in kennels or animal hotels cause an immense amount of stress. This is why Meowtel was created, so tailored in-home care is brought to you.
We recommend booking daily visits to keep your cats in their routine and help minimize feline anxiety while you're away.

If I could give 10 stars I would. This individual who I have affectionately dubbed, “ the cat whisperer”, Mary, was an absolute lifesaver at a very vulnerable time for my family. She came and cared for my son‘s 3 cats for one full month in my condo, religiously every single day, and loved on them and took care of all of their needs in a way that only a family member would’ve done! Had I not met this once in a lifetime individual, I don’t know what we would’ve done as we were in a jam and had to rush home up north really quickly and then had to stay longer unexpectedly. Some people take their roles in other people‘s lives very very seriously and Mary certainly did. She was an avid communicator and she sent the most beautiful pictures of my three kitties that I will treasure forever. I now consider her a friend in the St. Petersburg area! You will not be disappointed if you hire her!

Mary is a gem! Lady Pebbles adores and feels totally comfortable around Mary. Mary sends pictures and videos, lets us know the food and drink situation, and is very responsive. We have worked with Mary twice now and will continue working with her as long as she will have us.
