What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?
I have sat for cats for a good part of 15 plus years. I’ve only been in St Petersburg for two plus years. I have animal sat for a co worker who travels a lot. She has two rescue cats and a dog.
Can you tell us about your favorite cat sitting reservation?
I’m new to this platform but have had a consistent client who has two permanent felines but also fosters from time to time and one crazy dog. The dog and kitty’s get along great, it’s fun to watch them interact.
Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
Loki,domestic short hair black cat age 9, rescued him at four weeks old. Oscar, domestic long hair orange tabby age 8, I inherited him when my mom passed in 2023.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?
Speak with them, get a feel for them. Ask as many questions as you like. We are all feline lovers here , we all just have the kitty’s best interest in mind.
What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?
Being respectful and following their rules. No two cat parents are alike but their home is their home, rules must be followed.
How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?
I would of course follow the homeowners rules regarding doors and window and anything else they know that their cat is dying to destroy.
Are you usually available during holidays?
I have no other obligations but to myself and my cats. I usually visit my only child before or after holidays so not to deal with the crazy rush!
What is your favorite cat toy?
Little fuzzy balls, never had a cat dislike them! A pointer is a great toy to get the lil chubs moving around.
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
Don’t crowd them, sit down to their level, not to close and speak softly to them, over a treat if it’s allowed or cat nip. Sometimes they just need to know someone is there.

Tina looked after our two senior cats for 14 days and did a tremendous job. It was our first time using Mewtel and we were very nervous, but everything went great. Tina followed all our house rules and instructions, was very reliable, and took great care of our cats. She was very attentive to them and their needs and sent us pics and videos every day. Tina was fantastic!! My kitty has separation anxiety, and she took the time to sit with him, and let him become comfortable. She provided cute videos everyday, and made sure that I knew he was being taken care of. It made a difficult trip much less stressful. I will definitely use Tina again. 😸

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Saint Petersburg cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $25.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
