Cat Sitting in Sarasota, FL
My priority is always your cat's comfort. I'm proactive at reading their body language to understand their boundaries with me.
Before your absence, I like to set up a brief meet-and-greet at your place. This way, I can meet you and your cat (if they're up for it!), learn your expectations, and make sure you're comfortable before leaving. For every visit, no matter how long or short, I'll:
1. Scoop and refill the litter box, plus clean up any tracking messes.
2. Clean and fill food / water bowls based on your instructions.
3. Spend quality time with your cat, based on their comfort level... As a Sarasota native, college student, and avid cat lover, I'm passionate about connecting with people through their feline friends! I know how important it is to give your kitty the best care. I've volunteered with Cat Depot in the past and in that time have met many cat personalities.

4. Make sure the general area is secure and your furry friend hasn’t gotten into anything.
❗️Medication Administration❗️
My profile indicates that I am able to administer the following medications:
1. Oral medications
2. Topical ointments
3. Inhalers
During our meet and greet, we will review your cat's specific medication routine and the administration techniques you use. All cats are used to different routines and techniques; it’s crucial for me to have an understanding of these differences so that your cat is most comfortable.
Outside of those medications, if you wish, I am willing to learn how to administer other medications your cat may require. We can extend our meet and greet time to cover this. This decision is entirely at your discretion.

I do make a requirement that the key given to me for access into your home during your reservation time is a COPY. I want to prevent any mishaps and ensure you’re able to get into your home at any given point. During our meet-and-greet, I will coordinate with you on a date/time for me to drop the key back off to you.

Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
I have three cats: two adopted from Cat Depot, and one I rescued as a kitten from the street. Maisie, my sweet tortie, is super shy around new people, but she literally talks to those she knows—she’s quite the chatty cat! Vespa, my calico, is older + quiet but sassy and loves to sunbathe all day long. Salem, my cross-eyed lynx point, is the kitten I rescued off the street. She’s so tiny and loves to scratch my wooden stair bannister. It’s funny because her name means peace, but she's anything but—she’s wild!
What is your favorite cat toy?
Tunnels are fantastic for cats! They offer that perfect sense of security—a cozy, covered space where they can hide, yet still stay engaged. Cats can move around freely and pop their heads in and out, interacting as they please. As for my cats, crinkle toys are a total hit. They absolutely go wild for them!
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
I'm perfectly comfortable caring for cats who are timid or anxious. I believe it's essential to respect their boundaries and let them set the pace. While toys and treats can be great for coaxing a cat out of hiding that you know, I approach new feline friends differently. I don't think enticing a cat out of hiding automatically creates a bond or gives me the right to interact with them. I find that "less is more" often works best. I prefer to sit quietly on the floor in an open space, giving the cat time to observe me in their environment and get used to my scent from a distance. This allows them to come out on their own terms. Depending on the length of the sitting job, there are many other methods I use, but this is always my starting point.

Haily was amazing with Mew. He was relaxed and happy the whole time, which means the world to us. She made sure he took his steroids, supplements, and nebulizer treatments without any issues. We felt completely at ease knowing Mew was in such caring and capable hands. Haily scooped the litter and refilled the water fountain everyday. She made me feel at ease by sending me detailed updates of Mew everyday. Highly recommend her to anyone looking for a thoughtful and reliable cat sitter.

Holiday Surcharge
Due to high demand during holidays, sitters on Meowtel have the option to set their own holiday price increase, which can be found in the rates section of their profiles. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.
These are the date ranges in 2026 to which the holiday surcharge applies:
- January 1-4: New Year's 2026
- January 16-22: MLK Day
- February 13-19: Presidents Day
- May 22-28: Memorial Day
- June 16-22: Juneteenth
- July 1-7: July 4th
- September 4-10: Labor Day
- October 9-15: Columbus Day / Indigenous Peoples' Day
- November 8-14: Veterans Day
- November 23-29: Thanksgiving
- December 22-28: Christmas
- December 29-31: New Year's 2027

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Sarasota cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $25.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.
