Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
I have 3 kitties currently, though, I've had 8 in my lifetime. -My current eldest, Daisy, is 14. She's timid, but super cuddly and talkative once you earn her trust. -Then I have Cody, he is 12. He is anxious around strangers and won't come out. He is super sensitive when it comes to loud noises and certain talking tones. His personality is like a forever baby. -My youngest, Sweet Pea, is 8. She came to me as a pregnant stray. She is highly territorial but is the dramatic cuddle queen.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?
Find someone who meets your top priority needs and has specialized experience in those areas. When you're cat has special needs, especially as they get older, you need someone reliable and knows how to properly handle those responsibilities. -For example, if you have an elderly kitty, they'd thrive in my care because of my long history with senior cat's needs, like medications or dietary resistance. You'd want to go to someone like me versus someone who only has experience who only has experience with playing or regular care of cats.
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
When it comes to timid kitties, forcing they out like grabbing or chasing them out is not acceptable and will only instill more fear and trauma within them. The approach I take comes with hard work and earning trust. I like to earn trust by speaking softly, getting low to the ground, and offering a safe but yummy peace treaty. I'm patient, and make sure they feel like they're still the ruler of their land. As they slowly come out or warm up, I invite them to sniff and some pets if they're comfortable. I read their body language to ensure they are respected and at ease. You're anxious kitty needs someone patient, soft toned, and knowledgeable in their language. You can count on me.

We have two older male cats so Sarah was an amazing help when my family took a trip!! When she visited us she was very polite and gentle with our boys. She was on time all the days we needed her (and even stayed a little extra). She cleaned up after the cats, all the food, treats, and toys put away neatly as they should. She took care to give one of my cats his medicine. I’ll say Sarah is the help you need :)

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Windermere cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $26.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.
