What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?
The main thing I’d advise is looking for someone who actually likes cats and make sure that they’re a calmer, yet optimistic person. Make sure the cat sitter also knows your house rules and follows them.
Are you usually available during holidays?
Yes, I am available holidays! Work doesn’t stop even if it’s on a federal holiday. I’ll be there for your cat’s every need.
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
Time is the true answer for this. Simply taking extra time out of your day and sitting around your timid cat’s space gets them acclimated to who you are. Making sure you’re calm and gentle around them can be perfect for getting a nervous baby to like you. Within a day or two, they’ll be able to be confident in your presence! Rewarding them and playing with them also further builds a bond and their confidence in you!

She sent updates with photos after every visit and hung out with them in each room of our home. When we arrived home, they were excited to see us, but not desperate for attention (as they have been with other friends and family cat sitters). Lily was fabulous. I had to book at the last minute. She came to meet us the next evening. My cats are not fans of strangers, but I was at once put at ease by her calm and peaceful demeanor. She spent time with each visit trying to get pix of the braver of the two (no hope of even finding the other one). She texted me an update everyday through the app. I came back to a well-cared for home and 2 well-cared for cats. Thanks, Lily!

Making the reservation with Lily was extremely easy. We had her meet our kitties before we left and she did a great job at encouraging them to walk up to her. One of our kitties was shy but while we were gone they became best friends. We got pictures everyday showing their time together and we could tell our cats had fun. Due to high demand during holidays, sitters on Meowtel have the option to set their own holiday price increase, which can be found in the rates section of their profiles. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.
These are the date ranges in 2026 to which the holiday surcharge applies:

- January 16-22: MLK Day
- February 13-19: Presidents Day
- May 22-28: Memorial Day
- June 16-22: Juneteenth
- July 1-7: July 4th

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Orlando cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $26.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.
