I'm Kaila

Cat Sitting in Acworth, GA

Hello! I’m Kaila. I have spent my entire life surrounded by animals of all shapes and sizes, but I have a particularly deep and soulful connection with cats as they’ve been my best friends since I was 6 years old. I understand that every cat is a sovereign individual: some are bold social butterflies, while others are quiet, observant spirits who need a little extra time to feel safe.

My approach to cat sitting is rooted in patience, presence, and genuine affection. I’m not just there to put down a bowl of food; I’m there to ensure your cat feels seen, respected, and completely at ease while you are away. They are your family and I treat them and love them as such.

What a Visit Looks Like-
When I enter your home, my first priority is your cat’s comfort. I follow a "low-stress" protocol:

Hello! I’m Kaila. What a Visit Looks Like-
When I enter your home, my first priority is your cat’s comfort. I follow a "low-stress" protocol:

The "Greeting" Phase: I let your cat set the pace. If they want cuddles immediately, I’m ready! If they need to sniff me from a distance, I give them that space while I handle their physical needs.

The Details: I am meticulous with feeding schedules, fresh water, and keeping the litter area pristine.

Play & Enrichment: Whether it’s a high-energy feather wand session or a calm "hang out" on the floor, I tailor the visit to your cat’s specific energy level.

Communication: You’ll receive high-quality photos and a detailed update after every visit. I want you to feel as if you never left.

What Sets Me Apart-
What truly sets me apart is my intuitive nature and calm energy. I am highly observant and can quickly pick up on subtle changes in a cat’s mood or health.

As a professional who values peace and calm, I treat your home with the utmost respect and your cats with the same devotion I give my own family. Whether your cat is a senior needing a gentle touch or a kitten with endless energy, they are in safe, loving, and highly capable hands.

I have had cats since I was a child. I’ve taken in a stray pregnant mama cat and helped her deliver her kittens, raise them, and find them safe and happy homes. And I’ve taken care of many senior cats who needed specialized care. I’m happy to give you the security you need for your babies while you’re away from them.

Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?

I have two kitties at the moment: my vocal, goofy orange cat named Wasabi, and my fuzzy, long haired sweetie pie Mochi. They are my favorite boys in the world and my snuggle bugs. Both of them have special personalities that have required unique approaches at times, but I go above and beyond for cats of all kinds. I’ve worked with more challenging cats, cats who needed meds, and highly specific cats.

How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?

Your cats and your home are my top priority. I follow a professional Triple-Point Safety Protocol to give you total peace of mind: Feline Safety Comes First: I never leave until I have physically seen every cat. No cat is ever accidentally locked in a closet or room. I use a body-blocking technique at the door to prevent "door-dashers" from slipping out. And I scan for tipped plants, loose strings, or unlatched windows at every visit. Home Security & Management Keys stay on a secure lanyard attached to my person at all times—never set down inside—to eliminate accidental lock-outs. I can also rotate lights, adjust blinds, and bring in mail/packages so your home always looks occupied. I double-check all deadbolts and alarm systems before leaving. Vetting & Tech: I require your vet’s info and an emergency contact before the first sit.

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

I understand that some cats are sensitive souls who need extra time to feel safe. My approach is rooted in patience and presence, never forcing an interaction. When I arrive, I keep my voice low and avoid direct eye contact, which can be seen as a challenge in cat language. I let them observe me from a distance while I calmly handle their food and water. I often spend part of the visit sitting quietly on the floor. Being at their level makes me less intimidating and allows them to approach and sniff me on their own terms. I use slow-blink communication and high-value treats to build positive associations. If they prefer to stay hidden, I respect that boundary while still providing a quiet, comforting presence in the home. For hiders, I meticulously monitor food intake and litter box activity to ensure they are healthy and comfortable.

Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

If it doesn't feel like a purrfect fit after a Meet & Greet or during a reservation, our support team is here to help at 1-844-Meowtel (1-844-636-9835). We'll take time to understand what happened and help you consider next steps, which could include help with a new reservation.

Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.

Cats are territorial animals and don't do well in new environments. The presence of other cats, dogs, and even birds in kennels or animal hotels cause an immense amount of stress. This is why Meowtel was created, so tailored in-home care is brought to you.

We recommend booking daily visits to keep your cats in their routine and help minimize feline anxiety while you're away.

Each visit typically includes: feeding, refreshing water bowls, litter box scooping, tidying up, medications, updates with photos, lots of playtime, and any special requests. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet!
