Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?

Yes! I have 3! Ella Louise, Dr. Henry Frankenstein (Doc) and Ms. Lovett (Buv)! Doc and Buv are tuxedo siblings that I raised alongside their brother Victor who lives with my mom! Ella Louise is my first love and we’ve been best friends for 6 years now!

What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?

The biggest thing is understanding the cat’s personality. Are they anxious around new people? Are they playful? Do they have any health problems to keep an eye on? What kind of food prep does their diet require? I’m also always happy to meet the parents (and kitty) before sitting as well! It’s also important for me to have some kind of list regarding the steps for feeding, location of items like trash, broom, litter box, etc. When I have all of the information, it makes it to where I don’t have to reach out to the parents! I also want both cat and parents to feel comforted knowing their kitty is being well taken care of, so establishing a relationship is huge!

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

Cats are highly emotionally intelligent. If a cat is timid or anxious, they’re most likely having a hard time trusting you and/or feeling safe in the environment. So when handling anxious kitties, I present myself openly to them without pushing any boundaries. They’ll warm up when they’re ready and forcing it will never make a cat feel safe. I like to smile at them a lot and notice the spaces they hide and avoid overstepping into their territory until I’m invited. Patience is key with cats!

Cancellation Policy

Customers may cancel within 24 hours of making their reservation and receive a 100% refund, and the sitter will not receive any earnings. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:

Customers will receive a 100% refund to their Account Balance if they cancel anytime up to 48 hours before the start date of the reservation, and the sitter will not receive any earnings.

Customers will receive a 50% refund, and the sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings if the customer cancels between 24-48 hours of the start of the reservation.

No refund will be issued within 24 hours of the reservation, and the sitter will keep 100% of their planned earnings.

We are proud to provide each of our independently-contracted Meowtel cat sitters with the full benefits of our Meowtel Promise on eligible reservations. For reservations where each visit is at or above $20 and paid for through Meowtel, your cat(s) will automatically be covered under our insurance policy in the event that things don't go as planned.
