What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?
I have been cat sitting for about 6 years total, particularly while a student. I feed, play with and have at times administered medication when needed.
What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
I love when I get to see the kitties more than once and build a little friendship with them. I especially love to hang out and cuddle.
Can you tell us about your favorite cat sitting reservation?
I’m fairly new to this app, but not to cat sitting. I’ve been watching a couple kitties in the Quarter for about four years and I love them as much as my own cats.
Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
I have three cats! Squash(6), Louis (6), and Cleo (2.5). I got all three from local rescues. The boys are from Rolling River Rescue and the girl is from Tomato Foster Club. The boys are especially cuddly, Louis in particular who loves all people. Cleo is more skeptical, but eventually warms up.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?
Generally I think a good cat sitter is someone who owns/owned cats. I personally like someone who is willing to come spend some time because cats aren’t solitary creatures as the stereotypes have people believe. Plus my cats are super social.
What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?
I generally like to arrange a meet and greet to get acquainted with the cats’ environment and routines. Plus I think it at least introduces me to the cat so I’m not a total stranger to them.
Are you usually available during holidays?
Generally yes, with the exception of Mardi Gras season. Though I’m happy to work on a case by case basis during that time period.
What is your favorite cat toy?
My cats love this feather chaser toy and often meow at me to play with it. So I suppose that’s my favorite one. I also love this old mouse toy that my cat Louis has remained attached to for years.
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
I generally like to let them approach me on their own time. I try to crouch or sit so I’m on their level and let them smell my hand or my bag.

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

New Orleans cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $21.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
