Loving Cat Mom And Sitter

I'm Kaylee

Cat Sitting in Allston, MA

I’m a loving cat mom of two under two and I have years of experience caring for cats and cat sitting. I absolutely love animals and value the importance of reliable and quality pet care. I know how nerve-wracking and sad it is to leave my babies, Maisie and Honey, so I strive to put owners and cats at ease and make time apart as comfortable, safe, and enjoyable as possible! I work from home as a data manager for cancer research clinical trials, so I have a flexible schedule for visits. I also have knowledge of animal health and safety, as well as CPR and Heimlich Maneuver for cats and dogs. I always treat animals with care and allow them to guide our interactions... I’d be honored to spend some time with your fur babies!

I like to structure my visits individually for the needs of each kitty and owner, and am willing to work with the owner to create the best plan. I would love to give some cuddles, as well as help with responsibilities like feeding, scooping litter, and play time. I have experience with some spicy kitties and will always follow the lead of the cat when interacting, and I understand cat behavior and expression of boundaries. I also excel in treat time, which will hopefully appeal to your kitties! I am willing to provide any cat-related chores like cleaning food and water bowls, brushing, cleaning messes, and administering medications if necessary. Please let me know what you and your fur babies need!

What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?

I have been officially cat sitting for over 3 years and I love it! I absolutely love meeting and bonding with new kitties. The most rewarding part of the job is making kitties feel comfortable, loved, and well-taken care of while their owners are away. As a nervous cat mom myself, I also appreciate being able to provide reassurance and security for cat parents while they’re away. Knowing your fur babies are in good hands makes a world of difference while traveling!

Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?

I have two lovely girl kitties named Maisie and Honey. They are both loving, playful, and, at times, extremely energetic (and destructive). I have done lots of research on how to provide the best lives for my fur babies, and I plan to extend that sentiment to all kitties I meet and care for!

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

I always use a gentle, slow, and soft approach when meeting new cats and let them lead our interactions at all times. I have done lots of research into cat behavior and body language, which I also use to guide interactions. For particularly nervous kitties, I make sure to be especially calm and let them get some good sniffs before deciding how they’d like to proceed. If allowed, I also like to create comfort with treats while providing space and time for the kitty to feel more comfortable to approach. If the kitty is feeling ready, their favorite toys, blankets, or comfort items are also a great way to build confidence. I also like to make sure there are safe places for the cat to hide or climb up high so they don’t feel that their space is being encroached upon. I’ve always been well received by cats I’ve met!

When our beloved cat Lili fell seriously ill, we were terrified and heartbroken. What followed was one of the most stressful periods our family has ever faced — but Kaylee made all the difference in the world. From the very first visit, Kaylee’s warmth and genuine compassion were unmistakable. She didn’t just treat Lili as a patient — she treated her as the cherished member of our family that she is. We were stuck in California because of the blizzard in Boston but her great care immediately put both Lili and us at ease. She took her to the vet twice and stayed all day by her side until we returned close to midnight. The vet told us she was extroidinary. All through those days she fed Lili by hand keeping her alive. She ventured out during the worst of the storm to make sure Lili and Cooper were ok. What truly set Kaylee apart was her attentiveness. She followed up regularly to check on Lili’s progress. We always felt like we were her only priority — even knowing how many other animals and families she was caring for. Thanks to Kaylee’s expert, tireless care, Lili survived until we returned. Lili did pass the next day but she kept her alive until we were reunited. We are convinced that her dedication made Lili’s time on Earth loved and cared for. If you have a pet who needs care — especially one who is sick and scared — we cannot recommend Kaylee highly enough. She is kind, skilled, deeply professional, and genuinely loves what she does. We are forever grateful to her. 🐾

I have two elderly cats. One has hyperthyroidism and requires medication twice a day. They have given me love and comfort for 16 years, and I want the rest of their lives to be enjoyable and stress-free. Having Kaylee as their caregiver while I am away, makes that possible. She is wonderful in all ways, including administering meds, playing with them, cleaning their litter box and the occasional vomit, communicating with me with photos and narratives about their day, and most importantly....a genuine affection for them. Kaylee has my highest recommendation.

Kaylee was exceptional for the second time of taking care of my babies. We were gone for a week, and Kaylee visited my elderly kitties twice a day, during which time, she administered meds to one. She is conscientious, kind-hearted, resourceful, and wonderfully tidy. I received updates on their health and many photos. I give her my highest recommendation. She is extremely trustworthy.

Kaylee has watched our two cats a couple times now and each experience has been great. She’s very responsive, does a great job with our cat requiring medications, and sends lots of fun photos when we’re missing our kitties!

Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.

Cats are territorial animals and don't do well in new environments. The presence of other cats, dogs, and even birds in kennels or animal hotels cause an immense amount of stress. This is why Meowtel was created, so tailored in-home care is brought to you.

We recommend booking daily visits to keep your cats in their routine and help minimize feline anxiety while you're away.

Each visit typically includes: feeding, refreshing water bowls, litter box scooping, tidying up, medications, updates with photos, lots of playtime, and any special requests. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet!
