As a cat sitter, I've had experience caring for cats of all ages, with many different personalities and care needs. My first cat sitting experience began as a young child when I created my own cat-sitting "business" and distributed handmade flyers across my neighborhood... Hi! I’m Sophie, a lifelong cat owner who loves and cherishes every cat I meet. I've had cats since birth and I simply cannot imagine my life without them—they are truly incredible creatures and they bring so much joy to our lives. As a result of my lifelong experience with cats, I am very attuned to their behavior, including verbal and non-verbal cues. I’m adept at earning the trust of shy or anxious kitties, and I always take the time to learn what each cat needs to feel safe and loved.
As a cat sitter, I've had experience caring for cats of all ages, with many different personalities and care needs. My first cat sitting experience began as a young child when I created my own cat-sitting "business" and distributed handmade flyers across my neighborhood. Ever since then, I've been passionate about providing compassionate and responsible care for cat parents in need.
During my visits, your cats will receive pets, playtime, food, a clean litter box, fresh water, and anything else you request. You will also receive lots of photo updates, because I know how much it means to stay connected when you're away.
I’m a proud cat mom to two adorable (and occasionally chaotic!) furballs: Mojito and Bellini. Caring for them has taught me everything from administering medications, to handling litter box mishaps, to kitten-proofing my home. Right now they're almost 1 year old, and growing up so fast.
As a fellow cat parent, I know how stressful and sad it can be to leave your babies alone at home when you're out of town. As your sitter, I will do everything possible to ensure you're put at ease when your babies are in my care. I would be honored to meet and care for your beloved cats in the same way that you'd care for them yourself.

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
Getting to meet new cats! As us cat owners know, all cats are unique and have their own quirks. I love getting to know new cats and seeing their adorable personalities and habits, and eventually experiencing a bond forming between us.
What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?
I will provide an initial free meet and greet to meet you and your fur babies, ask questions and answer your questions, and learn how you’d like me to care for your cats and your home. I will be prepared to take notes for any specifications you have so that I can ensure your kitties are cared for in the same way you would care for them.
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
With timid cats, I usually sit on the floor quietly until they begin to approach me. I always talk to them in a quiet voice and encourage them to come near. If the cat does not want to approach on its own, I will try to coax it from afar using high-value treats or toys (per the owner's approval). Over multiple visits, this usually does the trick. However, I will never push timid a cat out of its comfort zone if it does not want to approach me.

We are so grateful for Sophie. During our two week-long travel abroad, Sophie took such good care of our two kittens, providing them the emotional support they needed, while also providing us assurance through daily text updates and (very cute) photos - these really gave us peace of mind. Sophie clearly knows how to care for cats of different personalities - both our kittens warmed up to her very quickly and looked forward to her daily visits. Sophie played with them, fed them wet meals, cleaned their bowls, changed their drinking water, scooped and changed their litter boxes. Sophie was super attentive to the health and safety of our cats! She notified us when there were changes to their stool consistency and took care to remove items that they were chewing on. When the kittens were unwell and in cones during a prior visit, Sophie was able to skillfully and calmly apply eye drops/ointment for both. We highly recommend Sophie for looking after your cats while you are away!

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.

Allston cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $30.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.
