What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?

I have 4 years of experience working with cats. I’ve watched cats from family and friends, and done professional sitting as well. I have been a volunteer at The Cat Connection shelter in Brighton since last year, which involves looking after multiple cats during each shift.

What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?

I always come over for a free meet and greet prior to starting a new booking. I like to ask a few questions about your cat’s personality, how they usually react to strangers, and the best way to approach them during visits. I always welcome questions from cat parents during this time as well to make sure any concerns are addressed prior to your departure.

Are you usually available during holidays?

I am almost always available for holiday bookings unless otherwise indicated! I don’t travel much myself and can usually fit in visits even on big holidays in the mornings or evenings.

What is your favorite cat toy?

My cats go crazy for the plastic springs! I like to squeeze the coils together and watch as their ears perk right up at the sound. I also love a classic string toy since cats of all ages tend to like them.

Luke is an excellent sitter! Setting up visits is no problem as he's easy to communicate with and attentive to detail. He's always reliable and on time, and patient with my sometimes less-than personable cat. I've never had an issue with him following my directions as instructed, and will continue to hire him as long as he'll come!

We have two cats, Willow and Cleo, that we had to leave at home for an extra long weekend (5 days) and Lukas was there to care for them. Lukas came by daily to feed them and spend time with them and take care of other cat maintenance issues (liter box, water fountain, etc.) and when we returned home all was well and the cats were very happy. One of our cats is even very skittish and Lukas was able to connect with her and keep her happy as well. Lukas was great in all aspects of this. There was great communication before, during, and afterwards. Lukas made sure to come by beforehand to meet the cats and go over where things were. We received updates during our trip on how the cats were doing, and we were easily able to close the loop afterwards. Lukas is very trustworthy with having access to our home as well as taking wonderful care of our cats. We won't hesitate having Lukas care for Willow and Cleo again in the future, and our two cats would certainly be happy to see Lukas again!

Cancellation Policy

Cat parents may cancel within 24 hours of making their reservation and receive a full refund, and the sitter will not receive any earnings. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:

Cat parents will receive a full refund to their Account Balance if they cancel anytime up to 48 hours before the start date of the reservation, and the sitter will not receive any earnings.

Cat parents will receive a 50% refund, and the sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings if the cat parent cancels between 24-48 hours of the start of the reservation.

No refund will be issued within 24 hours of the reservation, and the sitter will keep 100% of their planned earnings.
