I’m so excited to meet you and your feline family members! As a lifelong cat lover, I understand that every cat has their own unique personality and needs, whether they love playtime and cuddles or prefer quiet observation from afar.
During my visits, I always start by letting your cat set the pace, giving them space and time to feel comfortable. I’m attentive to their body language and signals so they always feel safe and respected... Hi cat parents!

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
What I love most about cat sitting is building trust and forming a special bond with each cat. Every cat has a unique personality, and I enjoy earning their affection at their own pace through play, gentle care, and creating a safe, happy environment while their family is away.
Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
Yes, I have a dark brown long haired tabby girl named Keisha! She is sweet and sassy, always keeps me on my toes! I love her so much.
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
I handle anxious or timid cats with lots of patience, calm energy, and respect for their boundaries. My own cat, Keisha, is very shy around new people and it took her a long time to fully warm up to us at home. Even now, she still prefers to hide when strangers visit, so I truly understand how important it is to move slowly and let cats come to me on their own terms. With shy cats, I start by giving them plenty of space and avoid forcing interactions. I speak softly, move gently, and let them approach me when they feel safe. I focus on creating a calm, predictable environment so they can feel secure. My experience with Keisha has taught me that every small moment of trust is a big win, and I bring that same care and understanding to every cat I meet.

I had never left my girls in the care of someone outside my family or close friends before, and was definitely nervous going into this! Especially because the older one has had a lot of health issues in the last year, and is on some medication, and usually hides from strangers. With Marian, she warmed up very quickly! Within a few days she was best friends with both of them. She sent photos and updates after every visit and quickly made me comfortable feeling that they were getting well taken care of. She handled the medication great, followed all of my overly detailed helicopter-parent instructions to the letter, was entirely respectful of my home, and even hand-washed the cats’ used food dishes each day even though I had left enough clean ones out for the length of my trip away, and she could’ve just left them in the sink or put them in the dishwasher for me to handle when I got back. It’s like I paid for a cat sitter and got a house sitter for free! (although there weren’t many tasks) Don’t let the lower number of reviews compared to some other sitters in the area deter you; she’s top tier- and at least for now, she was charging less than most of the other sitters I saw in my area.

Holiday Surcharge
Due to high demand during holidays, sitters on Meowtel have the option to set their own holiday price increase, which can be found in the rates section of their profiles. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.
These are the date ranges in 2026 to which the holiday surcharge applies:
- January 1-4: New Year's 2026
- January 16-22: MLK Day
- February 13-19: Presidents Day
- May 22-28: Memorial Day
- June 16-22: Juneteenth
- July 1-7: July 4th
- September 4-10: Labor Day
- October 9-15: Columbus Day / Indigenous Peoples' Day
- November 8-14: Veterans Day

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Cambridge cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $30.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.

Marian took care of my cat, Bella while I visited my family in two weeks. When I came home, I was shocked to see how happy and calm Bella appeared. Bella and Marian built a strong connection with each other where they would cuddle together at night. Bella was eating well and would play for hours with Marian. My house was also in perfect condition. Marian always cleaned up after herself and nothing in my house seemed to be disrupted or tampered with.
