Hi, I'm Sarah 👋🏼 I am a lifelong animal lover and a foster parent for a local cat shelter. I grew up with many different cats alongside a menagerie of other animals (some normal, and some not so much!) so I got comfortable caring for animals of all temperaments, dietary/medical needs, and different levels of ease or anxiety with new people.
During a visit, I want your cat/cats to get the type of attention and care that makes them feel secure and loved. That might be energetic & acrobatic playtime, a quiet & cozy hangout sesh together, petting/brushing, or just a quick in-and-out to minimize any disturbance. I always monitor and note any changes in behavior or eating, drinking, litterbox habits, etc for the owners.
I have a lot of experience caring for cats with special needs, from bottle baby kittens to senior cats needing round-the-clock hospice care. I am comfortable administering medications including insulin shots, pills/liquids/creams/powders, and subcutaneous fluids. I understand how important routine is for cats with health needs, and will carefully follow any instructions provided. I am also happy to provide as many photos or updates as needed for you to feel at ease.
I am based in Newton, MA. I have a reliable car and work remotely so I have flexibility in my schedule.

Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
No permanent cats because I foster cats for a local shelter and like to have a calm environment for the ones that aren't ready for cohabitation with other cats yet.
What is your favorite cat toy?
Just a good ol' wand toy with a little feather thingy at the end. I love to see cats embrace their inner acrobat when they jump to catch it!
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
I usually sit on the floor near them with a book and wait for them to feel comfortable to approach. Sometimes I read aloud to them in a soft, calm tone. Once they feel comfortable approaching, I offer a little treat (if permitted), and introduce myself by letting them boop their nose against the knuckle of my finger and let them have a sniff of the new person. After that I try to move slowly and predictably to build and maintain trust.

Holiday Surcharge
Due to high demand during holidays, sitters on Meowtel have the option to set their own holiday price increase, which can be found in the rates section of their profiles. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
