Leaving your cat with someone new can be a nerve wracking experience. When I cat sit, my priority is making sure your cat feels comfortable, cared for, and able to stay in their normal routine while you’re away. I also want owners to feel relaxed knowing their cat’s instructions will be followed.

What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?
I start by getting to know the cat and learning about their usual routine, personality, feeding schedule, favorite activities, and anything else that is important to their care. I also go over the instructions for each visit so I know exactly what needs to be done and what your cat is used to. Before the first visit, we can go over any questions, special instructions, and details about the home. I want you to feel comfortable knowing that I have everything I need to take good care of your cat while you’re away.
Are you usually available during holidays?
Yes, I’m available for holiday bookings, including visits around major holidays. I understand that holiday travel can make finding reliable care more difficult, so I’m happy to care for cats while their families are away.
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
With nervous or anxious cats, I take a patient approach and let the cat decide when they’re ready to interact. Some cats are immediately social, while others need more time to become comfortable with a new person. I don’t force interaction or pull a hiding cat out of their hiding place. I focus on keeping the visit calm and predictable, following their normal routine and giving them space when they need it. Depending on the cat’s personality, that might mean sitting nearby, speaking softly, offering treats or play, or simply making sure they have everything they need before leaving. The goal is for the cat to feel safe and comfortable rather than pressured to interact.

If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
