Cat Sitting in Sterling Heights, MI
Pet-sitting is now my full-time career. My normal drop-in visits occur between 7AM-8PM, and my overnight stays are 12 hours overnight; usually starting around 7 or 8pm. I will take care of feeding, refreshing water, administering any medications, and cleaning litter boxes/any messes at each visit or overnight. With the remaining time I will follow your kitty's lead to make sure they are comfortable, but can offer playtime, affection/cuddles, or just some quiet companionship. I can also take care of watering house plants, collecting mail, or other basic tasks able to be completed within the scheduled time.
I am a Fear Free Certified professional pet sitter, am comprehensively insured and bonded, and have completed a pet CPR plus first aid course. Your cat’s safety, happiness, and well-being are always my top priorities. Trust me to expertly care for your kitty cats while you're away! 🐾

I've been petsitting for over 3 years, caring for cats and other animals with a wide range of personalities, behaviors, and medical needs. Whether it’s a shy kitty or a playful one, I tailor my approach to ensure every cat feels safe and loved.
What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
I love building relationships with each cat I care for, especially helping shy or anxious ones feel safe and comfortable!
Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
Yes! I have two, Tonks (my sweet girl) and Finn (my goofy boy), both with beautiful gray coats. They are siblings I rescued as kittens over 7 years ago. They are truly the apples of my eyes, and I couldn’t love them more 🩶🩶
What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?
I always start with an in-person meet & greet to introduce myself and get to know your cat(s). This is a great opportunity to share their routines, needs, and preferences. I’ll also go through my detailed checklist to make sure I have all the information needed to provide safe, personalized care for your furbabies. Once the reservation begins, I will communicate each time I arrive and depart your house, with multiple pics/videos along with a detailed update of how the visit with your kitties went at each departure. Visits will follow your preferred routine, starting with a calm entrance and filled with mealtime, any necessary medications/supplements, litter box cleaning, fresh water, and any playtime or cuddles.
How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?
I take the safety of your cats and home very seriously. For your kitties, I ensure they’re in a safe environment by following your instructions carefully, keeping dangerous items out of reach, and providing regular check-ins to make sure they’re happy and healthy. For your home, I’m mindful about securing doors and windows, and I’ll follow any specific protocols you have for locking up. I’m also respectful of your space and privacy, treating your home as I would my own. Your cat’s well-being and your trust are my top priorities. I am also comprehensively insured and bonded as a pet sitter.
Are you usually available during holidays?

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
I always take things slow and never pressure a kitty to do anything they’re uncomfortable with. I use treats and toys approved by you to help them feel more at ease, and for extra-sensitive kitties, I can even use calming pheromone spray on my clothes if that’s helpful. If your cat needs extra time to get used to me, you can book trial drop-ins before your trip to help them feel more comfortable. Our cat is shy and afraid of new people and situations but she opened right up to Genie and would even wait in the window watching for her arrival! Genie was beyond amazing. She fit us into her schedule when we had a last minute change of plans. Our cat is high maintenance and needs medicine twice daily along with special potty needs as she’s a senior- Genie handled it all with patience and professionalism. We found ourselves in need of a kitty-sitter for the weekend that was adept at giving meds. We've never used a service before. I found Meowtel's website and was thrilled there were so many caregivers to choose from. I was drawn to Genie's profile because of her experience and great reviews. She was quick to respond and offered several days/times for the initial meet and greet. Genie was warm and friendly and mindful of how the cats may perceive a new visitor. Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Sterling Heights cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $28.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.

We loved Genie so much the first time we booked them, we booked them again! While we are away, Genie provides stellar care for our indoor and community cats. Genie is an excellent cat sitter for my 2 cats. She genuinely cares about animals and my cats are obsessed with her. In terms of her ability to take care of my animals she is detail orientated, professional, and communicative. Every session begins with a text letting me know she's there. When she is done she provides a long message with lots of the details including how many excrements and quality of them, how much did they eat, temperament, anything that was different, how they played, and what they did while she was there. Lastly, she always provides a ton of photos of my kitties! I highly recommend Genie, I wish I could keep her a secret so she doesn't get booked up by you will love having her take care of your kitties!
