What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
Getting to hang out with different cats and see their personalities makes my heart full! Also, I love giving owners peace of mind that their cats are getting the same level of care from me that I give my own babies.
Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
I have 2 indoor cats and care for several outdoor cats in my neighborhood. Inside my home, we have Cinder, my big grey man, who is 7, and Socks, my tuxedo, who is 4. Cinder has a heart condition and is struggling with his weight, so we are frequent visitors at the cardiologist and vet. The outdoor cats belong to my neighbor and are a mom and two of her babies (who aren't really babies anymore). They are semi-feral and have all been TNR'd. Although they technically aren't mine, I provide them with water, treats, and pets daily!
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
Working at an animal shelter for 3 years and handling cats regularly has taught me that every cat is different. Not every cat is going to jump into your lap and start making biscuits - and that's okay! Our shy friends are just as special, which is why giving them space and patience is key. I would still provide them with the same level of care that a social, outgoing cat would receive, but they would never be forced to interact with me unless they wanted to.

Lidia took loving care of my cats while we were out of town, and was very attentive to their needs and any concerns. She asked lots of thoughtful questions to make sure she understood them and our home. My cats adored Lidia! Even my shy one that tends to hide came out to say hello. Lidia sent daily updates and photos, so I always knew how things were going. She also helped with our mail and watered our plants. I couldn’t have asked for more! I’ll definitely seek out Lidia again for next time.

Due to high demand during holidays, sitters on Meowtel have the option to set their own holiday price increase, which can be found in the rates section of their profiles. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
