I am a recent college graduate at Michigan State University, and I am home in Edina for the summer! With a B.S. in zoology, animals (especially cats) are a passion of mine!

I have two cats myself--Louie and Wilby. Louie is 18 and spends a lot of his time napping and purring. Wilby, on the other hand, is 5 and loves playing while occasionally coming in for some snuggles.

I've been an avid animal lover since I was a child. When I'm not fostering kittens, snuggling with my own pets, or caring for someone else's, you can find me painting/drawing animals, photographing animals, and reading about animals. I love learning about their behavior! I love reading anything fantasy, writing my own fantasy book, and taking long walks in the woods.

What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?
I started cat sitting with Meowtel the summer of 2023. However, since the age of 10, I've done lots of dog walking/sitting for my neighbors.
Can you tell us about your favorite cat sitting reservation?
I honestly don't have a favorite! I truly have loved each experience I've had. I did really enjoy caring for one senior kitty that I was told would probably just watch me from the top of the stairs and was unlikely to interact with me. The first day, though, he came down for lots of pets, snuggles, and purrs! I was very grateful he was able to trust me.
Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
Yes, I have two! Louie is 17 years old, and is so friendly and outgoing. Wilby is 4 years old. I fostered his mom and sister, but couldn't say goodbye to him! He's fairly independent, but he's super snuggly when he's in the mood.
Are you usually available during holidays?
I will be around this Thanksgiving holiday and New Years!
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
I recently cared for a cat who was especially shy. Every day, I talked softly to him while crouching down, giving him the chance to approach me. While feeding him and cleaning the litterbox, I would keep talking gently to him. I never entered the room he would retreat to if he ever became frightened. I wanted him to know he could always have that space to himself. It was amazing to watch him begin to warm up to me after several visits. At first he would never approach me, but by the end of the reservation, he was allowing me to pet him! I handle all cats that are timid or anxious this way.

Nina really seemed to care for our kitties, even though they tend to be scaredy cats and not very visible. When we got home, the cats seemed happy and not stressed. Nina’s care was excellent!

Nina had a very shy older kitty to care for. While Mandy usually hid, Nina managed to find her and send photos. She also cared for indoor & outdoor plants and kept the Hummingbirds happy with fresh nectar. She also took care of a couple of things that came up unexpectedly. She is a gem!

Holiday Surcharge
Due to high demand during holidays, sitters on Meowtel have the option to set their own holiday price increase, which can be found in the rates section of their profiles. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.
These are the date ranges in 2026 to which the holiday surcharge applies:
- January 1-4: New Year's 2026
- January 16-22: MLK Day
- February 13-19: Presidents Day
- May 22-28: Memorial Day
- June 16-22: Juneteenth
- July 1-7: July 4th
- September 4-10: Labor Day
- October 9-15: Columbus Day / Indigenous Peoples' Day

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Eden Prairie cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $30.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.

I'd highly recommend Nina--she was fantastic with our cat when we went out of town on two separate trips. Upon the first few minutes of meeting Nina, our cat warmed to her right away and was very friendly with her when we were away. Nina gave us great updates while we were gone and was also very communicative before our trip. We will definitely ask her back in the future!
