I have been cat sitting for families online since 2019. I've met many fun cats in that time. Many have become an extension of my furry friends. Cats love me and I love them and I'm happy to come to you.

What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?
I have been cat sitting for clients since 2019 and for friends and family before that. I try to emulate what you would normally do for them, especially play time, if they enjoy that. Does your cat love attention? I'm happy to provide attention if they are up for it.
What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
I enjoy spending time with different cats. Each one has a different personality. I also want cat parents to feel at ease of their time away and know that their furry friend is safe and being well cared for. I feel joy when sharing all the cute pictures with the parents every day.
Can you tell us about your favorite cat sitting reservation?
Boris! Boris is a handsome British Short-hair. While British Short-hairs are not known to be cuddly in the typical sense, Boris shows his affection in other ways. He is always close by and is interested in everything I do. He loves to eat (and looks like Garfield) so he's on a special diet. His other love is his toys. He plays fetch (on his terms) and loves the lure poles. He will often pick out a toy and bring it to me to play. He makes me laugh with all his antics. I remember the first time I sat for him. He hid most of the weekend. Now I'm one of his human friends. His parents book me exclusively.
Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
I have a 3 year old Tortie named Sophie. I took her in when her parent passed away from cancer. She's a lover and the door greeter.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?
Do a meet and greet first. That way you can see how the person interacts with the cat and yourself. Some cats take a while to warm up to new people, I know. But you want someone who is reliable and the sitter can see your place and what you need them to do for you. I want you to feel at ease when you're gone.
What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?
I prefer to do a meet and greet. This way I can learn about the cat(s) in advance. I need to know if they have any special needs, medicines, behaviors, diets, favorite toys and their schedule.
How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?
I keep all external doors and windows closed to avoid door dashing. I prefer to keep your cat inside even if you normally let it go outside. I enter and exit quickly. I also need to know if the cat is prone to try to escape. If there are any hazards I will move them where they are not a risk. Please let me know if your cat is prone to opening doors and drawers.
What is your favorite cat toy?
I really like the lure toys on sticks. They allow fun for human and cat alike.
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
I understand not all cats accept strangers. I accept them where they are at. Some cats warm up with time. I can leave food and water out and spend some time so they can get used to me.

If I could give Kristen Ten stars I would! This was our first time having non family look after our kittens. Unexpected trip. The moment she walked in for the meet and greet Linus and Phoebe took to her right away! I was so relieved. She did a fantastic job caring for them when they were experiencing digestive issues. Communication was great during visits with pictures and details of food, water, litter and play time. I would recommend Kristen to anyone looking for loving care for their pets while they are away:)

This is the first time I used the Meowtel app. I read Kristen's bio and something just clicked. My Gracie is a sweet girl, 19 yrs old and needs meds twice a day. Kristen mastered that perfectly. Gracie ate well and when I got home after 9 days she was in great spirits and didn't ignore me. Also, everything was clean and orderly. We love Kristen!

Holiday Surcharge
Due to high demand during holidays, sitters on Meowtel have the option to set their own holiday price increase, which can be found in the rates section of their profiles. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.
These are the date ranges in 2026 to which the holiday surcharge applies:
- January 1-4: New Year's 2026
- January 16-22: MLK Day
- February 13-19: Presidents Day
- May 22-28: Memorial Day
- June 16-22: Juneteenth
- July 1-7: July 4th
- September 4-10: Labor Day

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Minneapolis cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $29.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.
Cats are territorial animals and don't do well in new environments. The presence of other cats, dogs, and even birds in kennels or animal hotels cause an immense amount of stress. This is why Meowtel was created, so tailored in-home care is brought to you.
We recommend booking daily visits to keep your cats in their routine and help minimize feline anxiety while you're away.
