I like to start visits by saying hello to the cat(s) I'm caring for and giving them some time and attention before taking care of the routines. The routine is often followed up with some more attention and time as circumstances allow.

What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?

I will be honest - I'm just getting started with cat sitting. However, I am always here to learn and welcome you to give me instructions and examples so I can provide the best care!

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?

Look for personality as well as skill. As with any other job, there are soft skills that the most experienced people may not have. Decide where that balance is for you - knowledge or demeanor? Where do you draw the line?

How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?

I will always check doors and windows to make sure they are secure when I arrive and before I leave. I also keep an eye out for hazards around the house that should be kept away from cats and do my best to make sure those are safely taken care of.

Adam was fantastic! He took care of my two cats, Winnie and Lulu, while I was traveling out of town, and I felt completely at ease knowing he was manning the ship back home. Lulu can be a tough customer, especially when it comes to her medications, and Adam went above and beyond to patiently try to win her over and make sure she was well cared for. I really appreciated the effort he put in rather than simply giving up when she wasn’t feeling cooperative. He also sent me daily updates and photos, which gave me so much peace of mind while I was away. It was clear that Winnie and Lulu were in caring, capable hands. I would absolutely recommend Adam to other cat parents and wouldn’t hesitate to book with him again. Thank you, Adam, for taking such great care of my girls!

Frequently Asked Questions

Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:


  • More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
  • 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
  • Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.

All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.

Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.
