I’ve been cat sitting for over 10 years and have cared for cats of all ages, personalities, and needs from super social lap cats to shy, independent, or high-anxiety kitties, and everything in between. I also have experience with kittens, seniors, and cats with pica. I truly love being around cats and getting to know what makes each one unique. Every cat is different, and I enjoy adapting my care to their individual personality so they feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you’re away. 🐾

Can you tell us about your favorite cat sitting reservation?

My favorite cat sitting reservation was for Tabi! She was really missing her dad while he was away and needed lots of extra love and attention. Tabi is such a sweet, outgoing girl who loves to be around people. She would follow me from room to room, chat with me, and happily soak up all the pets and cuddles she could get. I made sure to spend plenty of quality time with her, playing, snuggling, and keeping her company so she never felt alone. Seeing her become more relaxed and content each day was incredibly rewarding. Knowing I could help her feel safe, loved, and comfortable while her dad was away reminded me why I love cat sitting so much.

Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?

I have two kitties, Sully and Thirteen. Sully is a sweet, gentle boy who loves attention once he gets to know you, and Thirteen is full of personality and always keeps me laughing. Caring for them has taught me how unique every cat is, and it’s one of the reasons I love cat sitting so much!

My advice for anyone looking to hire a cat sitter is to look for someone who prioritizes patience, communication, and attention to detail. Ask about their experience with different cat personalities, especially if your cat is shy, senior, or has special needs. It’s helpful to choose a sitter who will follow your routine closely, provide regular updates, and take the time to understand your cat’s preferences, habits, and any medical requirements. I also recommend doing a meet-and-greet beforehand so your cat can become familiar with the sitter and you can feel confident in their approach. A great sitter should make both you and your cat feel comfortable, respected, and cared for while you’re away.

What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?

I like to start by getting to know both you and your kitty! I’ll ask about their routine, personality, favorite toys, treats, and any special care they need so I can keep things as familiar as possible. I also encourage you to share any little quirks or preferences. Throughout your trip, I’ll keep you updated with photos and messages, so you can relax knowing your kitty is in good hands. 🩷

How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?

Your cat’s safety and your home’s security are always my top priorities. I make sure doors, windows, and gates are secure before I leave, and I’m always mindful when entering and exiting to prevent curious kitties from slipping out. I follow your care instructions closely, keep everything clean and tidy, and treat your home with the same respect I would my own. My goal is for you to come home to happy, safe kitty/kitties and a home that’s just as you left it.

I typically am! ✨ I always keep my availability up to date here, especially around the holidays. I know the holidays can be stressful enough without worrying about who’s going to take care of your sweet kitty/kitties. My goal is to make the process as easy and stress-free as possible by giving your cat lots of love, attention, and personalized care while you’re away. I’ll also keep you updated with photos and messages, so you can enjoy your trip knowing your kitty/kitties are happy, safe, and well cared for.

What is your favorite cat toy?

My favorite cat toy is the tunnel my two cats have. I call it their spaceship because they’re in a world of their own whenever they play with it! They love dragging it all over the house, hiding inside it, and chasing each other through it. Watching them have so much fun never gets old, and it’s definitely their favorite toy.

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

When caring for anxious cats, I prioritize patience, gentle communication, and respecting their boundaries. I start by letting the cat approach me at their own pace, keeping movements slow and my voice calm and soft. I follow the owner’s routine closely—feeding times, play style, and favorite hiding spots—because consistency helps reduce stress. I pay close attention to body language and never force interaction; instead, I use positive reinforcement like treats, interactive toys, or quiet companionship to build trust.
