🐾 Your own purrsonal chef: Special diet? Raw, canned, kibble, freeze-dried— we accommodate all dietary needs with ease. Prefur a splash of water, Churu sauce, or freeze-dried-sprinkles on that kibble? Our pantry has everything yours has! Our professional cat chef will craft meals to your exact specifications, just like home. We are also happy to tend to your fawncy automatic feeder if that’s more your style. We are experienced troubleshooting multiple models to ensure that they function properly throughout your stay.
🐾 Your own purrsonal housekeeper: Our Head Housekeeper (she also happens to be our Certified Chef…yes, she is quite talented!) will tend to your litter box according to your special instructions. Do you poop in one and pee in the other? Trust us, we’ve seen it before. Do you poop about 1 foot outside of the litter box rather than in it? No problem, we’ll take care of that, too! We are experienced with all types of kitty commodes, from robots to a box in the corner with shredded paper for you old-school types. We will also vacuum and/ or sweep around your litter boxes each visit to keep things tidy and comfortable during your stay. Housekeeping also includes mail and package collection, basic plant care, trash/ recycling services, and the operation of lights (because we wouldn’t want to make your delicate paws work too hard, now would we?). Feel free to speak to us about any additional needs; we are happy to accommodate if possible.
🐾 Water Concierge: Water fountains/ bowls/ cups/ will be filled each visit and refreshed according to your purreferences. Ask our faucet attendant about our water-on-tap for the ultimate refreshment experience!

Lounge in your own favorite sunny spot, cat tree, fluffy bed, or cardboard box. Whatever you have at home, we’re guaranteed to have it here! Play your favorite games with your favorite toys, or request a complimentary forehead message from our Master Masseuse. (You guessed it: she’s also our Head Housekeeper and our Certified Chef!) Of course, we always respect our guests “Do not disturb” prefurrences, as well.
🐾 Purrfessional Photo Shoot: All bookings include complimentary sessions with our Purrfessional Photographer (OK, yes, we have one employee. She’s so ameowzing that nobody else would do!) Additional Facts:
I am a certified professional pet sitter with the National Association of Professional Pet Sitters (NAPPS). In 2021, I became the very first Meowtel sitter in the Triangle and in 2022, I joined Meowtel HQ as a Sitter Onboarding Specialist, helping vet new Meowtel sitters all over the country! In my other life, I am “Dr. Brown” at NC State University where I teach arts entrepreneurship and clarinet lessons. Most impurrrtantly, I am a cat guardian to my two feisty tabbies, Yoonie and Zot. Cats are so special to me and I can’t imagine my life without them.
I love and respect each and every cat, regardless of purrsonality type. As human beings, I believe that it is our duty to steward and protect the lives of all living beings on this planet. Fortunately, even the crankiest cats are easy to love because they are just so darn cute!
I know firsthand how difficult it is to leave your furry family members with someone you’ve just met. In my care, you will receive thorough updates each visit. To ensure that I am properly following all instructions, updates will contain photos of the cats as well as photos of litter boxes before and after scooping, filled water bowls, meal preparation, and medication dosing if applicable. All communication is conducted via the Meowtel app unless extenuating circumstances warrant mobile texts/calls.
COVID-19: I am fully vaccinated and committed to doing my part to keep you and your cat(s) safe! I will wear a mask in your home upon request and wash my hands frequently during visits.

What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?
I began cat sitting in 2021. I was actually the first Meowtel sitter in Raleigh!
What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
Caring for cats just makes my heart happy, it's hard to explain. A week off is about as much as I can tolerate!
Can you tell us about your favorite cat sitting reservation?
It's impawssible to choose a furforite! I used to cat sit for a handsome gentlemen in an assisted living community. He had two equally-handsome cats, and I really enjoyed spending time with all three of them. They were the best of friends (and a bit mischievous... ;-)
Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
I have two young cats, Zoticus ("Zot") and Eunice ("Yoonie").
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?
Your Meowtel sitter is your partner in caring for your cats while you are away. Great sitters are communicative, detail-oriented, and conscientious. They will encourage detailed instructions, even if you feel like you are being neurotic. Providing us with detailed information sets us up for success!
What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?
Once the reservation is booked and confirmed, I like to complete the complimentary meet-and-greet as soon as possible. This ensures that, in the event that we determine that I am not the purrfect sitter for your family, you will have plenty of time to book and meet with a different sitter.
How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?
There are too many precautions to list here, so feel free to ask me for more details! In sum 1. I document everything I do with photos and video 2. I've studied cat behavior carefully and have had tons of experience with cats at this point, so I am sensitive to odd cat behavior. I am also one of the few professional cat sitters who is NAPPS Certified. 3. I am extremely careful entering and exiting doors, and I am constantly surveying client's homes for hazards. You will notice that my updates are very consistent and "routine," which I have found helps reservations go more smoothly.
Are you usually available during holidays?
I rarely take holidays off, so yes! I typically take two weeks off in January, after New Year reservations are complete. (It's torture!)
What is your favorite cat toy?
Paws down, anything by Go Cat! "DaBird," "DaMouse," etc. Unfortunately, these have ruined basically all other cat toys for Zot and Eunice. They literally look at other toys like, "Oh. That one. Meh."
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
My number one priority with timid and anxious cats is giving them the space they request while still being able to verify that they are well. I've learned to balance encouragement via toys, treats, a soft voice, slow blinks, etc. while allowing the cat to determine our level of interaction. I observe their body language and respond accordingly.

Due to high demand during holidays, sitters on Meowtel have the option to set their own holiday price increase, which can be found in the rates section of their profiles. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Raleigh cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $25.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.

Katie has cared for my kitties a couple of different times. She does a super job! My kitties are older and one takes 3 different meds. Katie does a great job managing that and learning their routines. My kitties easily took to her including my shy girl who allowed some pets and even a little play. Katie is responsible and caring. Katie went above and beyond- we were in a pickle as we got sick on our vacation and couldn’t come home when we originally scheduled. Katie was amazing!! She shared frequent updates on how the cats were doing, with photos and videos of them playing and eating, and kept me in the loop on how their food and water levels were looking, their litter box behavior, and any other updates around the home (keeping plants healthy, checking on the mail). I have a rambunctious 2 and half year old male cat who was going through our first extended time apart since I had to leave town for a few days. Katie is the best! This is the first time I’ve used Meowtel, and I was so impressed with how smoothly things went. I imagine a lot of the ease and comfort was because Katie was very communicative, and I never had to wonder what was going on while I was away. Her attentiveness to detail in getting the cats’ needs met, and general lovey attitude towards them went above and beyond what I would expect from your typical “cat sitter”. Big fan!!!

Katie was great! She confirmed my reservation within hours. She called me to follow up and get all the info needed to take care of my cat, Sushi. She visited on the scheduled days and sent me photos of Sushi and her water bowls and litter boxes. Katie even sent me videos of her playing with Sushi and brought in the packages at my door. She was easy and great to work with. I will be asking for her help again watching Sushi and have already recommended her to my friends with cats!

Kathryn was awesome. Everyday we received updates on our pet. He seems to be having a btrer time with her than with us. We wouldn't change a thing. Communications was great, we received photos and small videos.

Honestly, I was a little skeptical of this service at first as I never heard of it before, but then I talked to Katie who explained the whole process to me effortlessly. Katie visited and cared for my babies (2 cats) while we were away for a week. She was extremely professional, communicative, and the kitties loved her. I am usually anxious going on vacation and leaving my pets behind but she took perfect care of everything. I will definitely be calling on her again for future trips. Thanks Katie!
